I've shot over 14,000 animals, around 8k of those are on various different GO grinds too, and yet I don't have a single super rare. On Te Awaroa I did 2 RD grinds, the first one taking about 2500 kills and the second taking around 250. During those grinds I accumulated 57 diamond red deer. I literally have a lodge full of them. Despite all that, not a single super rare. Am I just really unlucky?

That means you're going to find them feeding in that same area

You have a lot of forest there, but also open areas with lakes and rivers. There's also a forest that's been moderately burned, so it's extremely open and home to many animals: moose, buffalo, bears, and more. Personally, I love hunting there because of the biodiversity, but also because it's great when you want to hunt a specific animal. I just really enjoy it.

Emerald Coast has a ton of species variety and is an easy money making map because of the crocs.

Scotland is one of the most well designed maps I've ever seen, and has a great assortment of class 1-6 animals to hunt. The rolling hills allow you to easily spot-hunt, and even the default hunting structures are placed really well.

Silver Ridge Peaks is great for both small and large game hunting, but most prefer it for Mule Deer and Turkey. You can also efficiently hunt Black Bear, Pronghorn, Bison and Cougars.

Changes where your bullet lands when aiming.

Most of the class 2-9 rifles in game have a default zero of 150m, for example. So your bullet will hit exactly where you're aiming at 150m.

By changing your zero to 300m, the bullet will hit exactly where you're aiming at 300m, but it will shoot high at 150m, and so on.

for the starter ranger rifle with soft point, aim broadside, you dont have enough penetration to do much else. look up the page on the wiki for where the lungs are located, but just past the shoulders and a few inches down. Good luck!

yeah... you need the right caliber. when you're in the store menu, you can see the group on the different types of ammunition. Deer are 4, moose are 8, and that the .243 the ranger uses are 2-6

Trophy ratings are different for different species. Also you need to use the correct weapon and pass the harvest check to keep the medal, otherwise it goes down by 1 (silver to bronze, gold to silver, diamond to gold, etc).

It’s dependent on species. The Bighorn and newer Mulie racks are based heavily on real life examples, as are the smaller red deer, many of the moose racks (aside from the absolute biggest diamonds), the Hog, Rusa, and Sambar Deer on Emerald Coast, etc etc. are all based in relative realism. That one level 7 rack is the literal world record red stag, that should be a diamond rack imo. There’s nothing that looks like the biggest of diamond red deer irl, not even on farms and ranches.

If you want a specific animal, yes it needs a track. They will not track big predators though like bears and wolves, etc. If you just want an animal in a certain class, example class 1 are small creatures like birds, rabbits, etc, you just hit search small. Medium is class 2-6? I think. It will search for any animal that falls in those classes (foxes, deer,boar,etc) and Large is 7-9 so bigger game, bison, etc.

Its honestly up to you how to manage your grind tbh.

i understand it means animals is at new lake etc

you just have to find the jumpers and kill them

they go back to the zone they came from

like on my whitetail i had one zone stack with jumpers and i killed them off and they went back to their zones, i had zone with only 1 male left, that ended up with 4 males after.

whitetail are crappy though, they tend to do a lot of weird stuff

I’m a new player, I started like two weeks ago. Say I wanted to find all the mountain lion drink zones in silver ridge. Are they going to be in the spots as someone else’s map assuming the other persons map and my map haven’t blown out zones?

Definitely. When I was new, I barely knew anything lmao. Took 2 weeks to get my first diamond. Almost a month to level up. When I new gamed, it took 2 hours to find a diamond and only about a week to get back to level 60

Yep, my 3-4 year save corrupted in september and after that I've been able to progress so fast in the game. I'm still missing lots of diamonds (I still need them for about 70 species 🥲) but I've been having lots of fun with my new account

My ps4 broke and I tried to retrieve my saves and none of them worked. My only cloud save was from like 2022 💀 now on ps5 and I definitely learnt my lesson

My ps4 was 10 years old so I'm not surprised it gave up on life

In mp yeah, but from my experience, after the retriever breaks (it is usually next to you but you can’t see it and it can’t be used) you can’t use any other dogs. I never go into mp servers with the bloodhound first. Plus, my retriever has the bloodhound secondary.

I personally really like the retriever. It is reliable in sp and works for a while in mp. I hunt a TON of birds, so it benefits me a lot. I’d say if you like hunting birds and other class 1s, buy it. If you hunt big game, it serves no perpose

Retrieve would be a good companion then. He can pick up ducks that are far away, find grouse that made it a little ways after being hit, and more.
