Hi I just started the pheasant grind after a long time, I kill all the lv2 males and leave the lv1 ones, in the end I go back in time, I exit and re-enter the game but the lv1 ones remain lv1, why is this happening?

Just for clarities sake... there is no going back in time. And I'm pretty sure existing spawns do not change what they are no matter what you do. You have to wait for new ones to spawn in

There are a lot of great guides/tutorials out there on herd management. Definitely take a look at ones that match your goal!

If I remember correctly, a few months ago when I was grinding and finishing, I closed and reopened the game, and the animals had freshly respawned.

You likely just had new ones spawn in within that time frame. Reopening the game may trigger spawn fill but idk for sure on that one way or another. You don't get an entirely fresh set though. The ones already out there are still out there

As far as I remember, when you do hard management on pheasants, it kills at levels 2 and leaves males at level 1, you exit and re-enter the game and the levelas should have respawned at level 3 or level 2. This was the process I did until last year and in all the videos it shows this now I have already cycled 4 times, closed the game 4 times but the lv 1s remain lv 1.

The level 1s wont change to something else. New spawns will come in that are at the higher level

You need your lv 1s on the map still - from what I know it's a weighted ratio to determine what spawns you get. Having a bunch of low level/low weight will give higher chance for high level/high weight to spawn because that's what you are missing (of course after you kill them all off). You likely have your higher level ones off in other zones - exterior or unknown - or they simply haven't spawned yet.

Bears destroy box feeders, it attracts all the animals that heat that stuff at there own feeding hour. so you need to bee there at feeding hour of that animal. Place your tent 250m or more.

Also shoot the animal from a tripod or blind. You won’t kill the zone or have to wait for it to rebuild around the feeder. It allows you to get off the tripod or blind once and awhile to work for a better shot too

Not every drink zone is a good idea though, that’s why folks hate it more than not. Some trees get in the way but overall, it’s not a huge issue. People just love to complain. Lol

I have all my Whitetail Zones on Revontuli. Herd Management was going well, but now none of my Bucks are respawning. Quit the game, reset the time multiple times, still no respawns.

Some zones are even disappearing, even though I’ve been using stands the entire time

iirc, stands/blinds don't stop zones from disappearing but simply make it take longer (ex: more kills before it moves)

You likely have new zones that have spawned where your missing ones are at

The only way to avoid dead zones when shooting constantly is to use a bow from a hide

Check your wind. If the wind is blowing directly at the zone then you might as well kiss the Coyote goodbye

Coyotes are my nightmare, coyotes and foxes have very good sense, there hard to approach, a bag pack creates more noise. Crawl and use scent camouflage, good luck 😆
Me i prefer to go to one of there drink zone hide there and wait for them, usually there's two of them, a male and a female.

If your well hide under a pine tree, a blind, tripod, tree stand.
there is some skills and perks that help a lot for that.
For coyotes i prefer to be laying down, on a slope or a rock at 75m (First zero point) it places me over the vegetation, not moving to create no noise.
The pointer can help you also to spot him.

based on experience, i disagree, though medved has more zones, it is way more enjoyable as moose are out in the open compared to layton

this is the simplest way

step 1: find all your fallow drink zones (around 35 in te awaroa)
step 2: select your favorite zones
step 3: put a tent and a tripod on your selected favorite zones
step 4: fast travel to each zone and shoot the largest buck
step 5: repeat until you get a great one or you get bored

Could be that you have disconnected but it's showing you're still in the server. Unfortunately there's not really a fix. Could also be another person making it freeze, and it will be fixed when they leave.

What zones do you want to hunt? Drink or feed? Once you’ve decided set a blind/stand up overlook with a tent near by to make it easy to get to. Reset time and shoot gold only and leave little guys. I remember scarecrow or someone saying it doesn’t actually effect g1 spawns. It just spawns more diamonds making the grind more enjoyable

If you're referring to a mission in a reserve I think some of the missions are currently bugged atm. One of Yukons missions where you have to harvest a silver moose is bugged and one of Medved's missions where you have to harvest a golden medal bear is also broken.

Usually all you have to do is just take a picture of the fallow deer and it auto completes, so maybe the mission is bugged 🤷

If this is indeed the mission I think it is, you must take the photo with the lake in the background.
The spot where the two arrows are is where they pass, the circle is where you can stand to take the photo. You don't have to send the photo anywhere; it will validate your mission, and the photo will be in your Steam images.
If you go to where the small island is, you will find an artifact and the tracks of the Fallow Deer.

I don’t really understand why everybody loves the Virant. This weapon is completely outdated with the Anantha. More range, more bullet speed = less pre-aiming and more flexibility because it includes class 2 as well. For class 1 you don’t need to hit a viral organ, so penetration is not so important.

so, on any fresh map, there’s almost a guarentee of a few diamonds/rares to be on your map already! some maps are better than others usually, but the best way to find a diamond would be to hunt for whatever species is drinking, make sure to check for hotspot maps online as some species only stick to certain parts of the map & some don’t even drink so those you have to go for feed zones, but drink zones are usually the easiest to find & see, if you hunt species in their drink time & their home range, you’ll find one eventually! also know that certain species have different max levels 3,5 & 9 (besides the 10 aka great one) my suggestion would be to try sunderpatan as the other 2 beginner maps are known to be a little more dense.

Also, if you have the perk/skill that shows an animals weight from the tracks, it’s good to know what an animals max weight score is because following those tracks will lead you to a potential diamond!

black tails aren’t very common diamonds i see posted, but probably also due to lack of hunting them, if you target enough of the larger bucks, eventually you’ll find one to make diamond (make sure you’re passing the harvest check or they will be downgraded to a gold)

as far as the easiest diamonds, here’s a few. Any Turkey species, Blue Wildebeast, Wild Yak, Blue Sheep, Western Capercallie & Bantang. i’m sure i’m missing a few, but those come to mind, they make diamond quite often

Most of those missions require you to do them in certain areas. Make the quest active and be sure you're in the orange zone. The pressure zone will have its central point within the orange if you got the kill shot right for it to count

Your scent and sound also matter. Every animal has a different detection "rating" for the three types. So you just have to be either really really careful and aware (wind direction, scent spray, sound, cover, ect) or learn what you can get away with for each species

Some are a lot easier to just casually approach than others - even upwind

I made the mistake of doing it the last 2 hours of their drink time and had around 15 zones undiscovered

So I'm trying wolves for the first time on Yukon and after getting my drink zones discovered more often than not close to half the zones groups just don't show up. Regardless of how often I check there.
Is there an issue with wolves and spawning or am I doing something wrong?

First things first - there's no such thing as screwing them beyond repair for this! They always have a teensy tiny chance to spawn in when you kill an existing large animal of that species (there's a balancing factor).

In very simple terms without any crazy grinding or set ups, just going through that animals zones (drinking is typically the most reliable) and killing all the mid-high difficulty ones will open up a chance for them to spawn. Wolves for example, clearing out your 5-9 males gives you a good casual chance.

Alternatively you can do herd management which is essentially a 3 step process:

• find all your drinking zones for the animal
• kill high difficulty spawns where you don't want to hunt & low difficulty spawns where you do want to hunt (ex male wolves 4 and under in spots you'll ignore, 7 and up in your main
• kill all your highests and repeat all steps as needed

And anyone who's done lots of hm feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. 😅 Only recently started it myself

For wolves the levels you keep are a bit different than other species

In exteriors most ppl keep 5s and below, because 4s just don't spawn as often

And in mains people usually keep at minimum 8s and up (however you could use max weight 7s if you really can't spawn any 8s)

for the sake on great one also, wolves dont even need herd management, just select 8-10 zones with at least 2 males and 2 females and shoot the largest 2 wolves. rinse and repeat.

All animals killed in the water will drift toward the spot where you were when you killed them, so stay where you are, it will drift toward you. Look where you were; it should be there.

I was stalking a legendary and got within about 90 yards of him. But he was laying down resting. So I tried a call with the rattler. He finally go up to look. Equipped my rifle and POOF off he and the rest run off.
All I did was get the rifle from inventory.

I think he saw you when you called him and he stood up, if your not laying down he can see you even at 90yds. Also, pay attention to the wind, your scent.

Layton is a pretty cool lodge imo even though its small and can't be visited by friends. The best thing you can do is to save up if you want one of the newer/larger lodges and wait for a sale. They get discounted pretty nicely on and off. I think the one I'm missing is like $2-3 when its on sale.
