Remember: have 20mins gap irl before shooting the solo, DO NOT harvest your solo when shot, only harvest it when after you harvested the small ones in that herd. Only shoot mid level or up solos, im talking max estimate score of like above 160, but usually I just skip the 165, cuz they are annoying.

One thing ive heard is just: find them, kill, note down your kills, find new zones after killing

But like you want a foolproof method its lady’s method, slow but easy enough

Revontuli was the map I started on. It was really fun as well using it to get into the game because it has a lot of areas for open field hunting (attracting things) and hunting lakes.

I think some will say the same, and I do recommend it.

Rifles I recommend (since you’re just starting) are the Ranger .243, Zarza .308 Moonlight, and 22 LR or 22 Hornet for small game hunting. That’s also a matter of personal opinion but I find them the easiest to use

But for bigger animals I recommend the Arzyna .300 Magnum. Because it’s what I use

It’s got high pen.

I think it’s in a DLC pack* tho

i am in medved taiga, at the mission called the wounded one. At first I followed it for about half an hour, and then rage quited. I joined back and i can still hear the reindeer so im not softlocked. what do i do so that i can shoot at it and not just chase it for another hour?

No, you just kill and harvest as many males as you can of the species you’re going for

Generally level doesn’t matter when it comes to g1 chances

Yeah. Only for some species does weight management affect it to a significant degree. For the majority of them, and across the board, your best chances are just shooting eveything :p
but you must claim them or they won’t have a chance to respawn as a g1

Just set up to where you can shoot as much as possible

For black bear I’d actually suggest 5+ because they do benefit from HM for g1 buuuuuut your best chances overall is just shooting/claiming every black bear male ya see. You aren’t gonna ruin anything either way. It’ll just likely be faster for you without worrying about managing them

Whitetail and wolves love to do it. Most any deer, along with other land species will eventually do it. Not sure about all the birds. Solos of any animal will usually always bounce around too.

If the animal has a drink zone, go to drink zones. If they don't have a drink zone, go to feed zones

Feed zones are always out in the open

And the distance is different for everything, so just keep the animal spotted and start to crouch when they go attentive

You can get “something good” by just wandering. If you want to increase chances overall I’d keep to shooting the bigger levels

If you’d like, over time you can figure out what zones you like to shoot + which ones you don’t want to come back to as much

Try to to shoot small deer in the “good hunting spots” to allow them to respawn larger. Shoot any bigguns ya see in crappy zones. Simple tbh

Hey everyone, I have been having trouble luring animals with my calls, I’m well with in 200m from them, about 80 percent of the time I am down wind and still nothing comes in, I really wanna use my bow more but it’s discouraging when nothing wants to get closer to my tree stand.

What animal are you hunting from a tree stand?

When you are in a tree stand, you must crouch down; otherwise, you are too visible. You cannot lie down, but you can crouch, and you will be more stable for aiming.

Use the FoxPro X360 e-caller. Place it within 40 meters, but not in the same line of sight as the spot where the animal is expected to arrive. For example, if it is coming from the north and the e-caller is the center point, do not position yourself to the south (you would be in the same line of sight). Instead, position yourself to the east or west.

You can use the manual caller when the animal is far away. When it gets close, it will spot you in the tree.

Also, use scent camouflage.

The biggest issue with them being too close is really just.. whether they spook or not when you shoot the ones nearby. If you can get them all semi consistently then there’s no problem with it.

If you start having less respawns/they aren’t coming back as quickly, you might add a couple more zones

Finite, about 20 of second missions depends on the main mission, most of them have 10 secondary missions and some have 20.
You should be able to finish the map with all main and secondary missions done, in all it's about 70 secondary missions.

There are two. One is ambusher, one is stalker. At lvl 60 I have 14 in one, and 8 in the other. They do stagger the perk/skill points as you level up but I do think you should have more

it’s not just abt the level if they have a bigger rack i would shoot them so level 2s are small enough to leave normally if the deers max estimate is 155 or less i leave it. But i would say 165 and less would also be fine and would make hm faster

moose are easiest to find cos they seem to spook a lot less and are a lot bigger so easier to spot, try working on your spotting and awareness and youll for sure find some good stuff! just take ur time, this isnt a game you can rush by any means especially early on. take it slow, look around water and open areas when hiking and complete the missions to learn some more helpful stuff!

If you set tents up right on the zone the deer will spook and flee immediately and you’ll be way less likely to get a good shot on them, setting the tent up farther away ensures that the deer will be calm and ready to be shot , though if you’re only level 7 I’d actually recommend travelling to as many different outposts and lookout towers as possible across your maps , I got a lot of xp that way when starting out and it helped me explore my map more

Basically when you shoot higher levels they have a higher chance of respawning as diamond and with time the 8s and 7s will respawn as diamonds when most of the other deer or other animal are mostly low levels the game will try to balance out giving moe chance of diamonds spawning

Also, maybe the pointer dog. It’s just a fun play style opportunity, really. I bought it on a whim when it released and have been really happy I did so. It’s fun wandering around with em, letting em find stuff and point me around. Especially on denser maps. :p

Ngl, I think the Bloodhound can be super great addition as well. If you don't clear down-on-spot shots all the time, even the short distance tracking is a crazy useful extra. Especially for nighttime hunting

Anyone know around the average amount of kills it takes for a red deer great one. I am around 1300 kills in and I have killed 28 diamonds, 2 Melanistic, 2 albino, and 4 piebalds one piebald being a diamond but yet to see a great one.

Completely RNG. Could be the next kill, could be 7000 kills. Average does tend to be around 2000 though, but that number is honestly meaningless

From my experience (I’m assuming this is the wolf grind) I’d just shoot em, shoot anything level 5 or above and stay setup on the area if possible (or make note of it being a zone) , wolves will be jumping zones very frequently and you won’t really be able to just shoot em down and leave em in my experience , some nice high level will totally jump into ur low zone at some point

Trophies from modded servers aren’t considered “legitimate” , if you want trophies , I’d suggest looking through your single player maps , checking drink zones across lakes and rivers and spotting as many animals as possible
Additionally discussion or asking for modded servers is against the server rules here (refer to rule 9) so please refrain from discussing them where possible

Shrug I just always shoot the biggest one first if possible but i’ll go for the 5 too if either that’s the only one giving me a broadside or if I can take a good follow up shot

I’d very much imagine so yeah, I personally counted the amount of males of every single one of my zones before starting my grinds and I’ve had males jump to zones that I haven’t shot at for ages and ages , so it’s possible a GO respawn could hop to a real quiet zone , make sure to have a peek at all your zones every few rotations

Fyi I’m no grind expert I’m speaking from my own experience but with wolves it is . Pretty much just shoot 5s and up for me and if I got a zone with only level 4 males I’d leave it , but check back on it every now and then incase a big bad wolf jumps to it

They’re possible to herd manage , but it’s a pain in the butt to do so , more hassle than it’s worth most people have found

It's not guaranteed that he will find it, ther's a bug with the dog he has difficulty tracking big games, moose, bison's, etc. But there working on a solution.

if you havent upgrading the tracking skills in the stalker skill tree is a big help with that and adjusting the outline colors for tracks is a massive help.
I had trouble tracking animals for the longest time because the default outline colors for the inactive and active track were too similar

You don't. Shoot all your zones in rotation, some will be reliable respawns and easy to shoot, and others will have poor respawns and might be hard to shoot (crawling to the tripod)

Your best zones will reveal themselves as you hunt, others will become mediocre

i went from hunting wt to moose and back to wt & i was hunting them at 10-11 confusing the drink zone times & i was constantly wondering where my bucks were at & now im grinding them again & the grind been smooth since, as always you can go out and check your other lakes you dont hunt for big males, what i’ve been doing is scattering feeders around my map & using the outpost to travel to them, placing them at least 300m away from the outpost with a hunting blind setup, similar to a grind setup, but to check on the rest of the population without having to go to each drink zone

over time you’ll have to check your exteriors which is a time consuming task, but it’s pretty necessary, you could try what i said above and use the feeders to attract a 400m range of the species you’re hunting

You need to check all your zones on each rotation if you can. Some zones will just fizzle out and stop getting shootable deer. Leave them and pull up your tent, but go back to check once in a while.

It's normal size, the best thing is to go to a drink zone near a lake, there could bee multiple drink zones around the lake, you'll also have clear view.

This is what I’d suggest. Just know any animal zones you had in the dead zone will move, which includes zones for species that aren’t currently at the zone

But you can stack zones that exact way and many do just that

It’s why sometimes you’ll see incredibly massive herds on some folks maps even when they aren’t modded. They’ve moved them lol
