I would grind on revontuli personally, then find all the drink zones. Use 8 of the found zones with big bugs in it aswell as many males and start your setup there, if you want to herd manage you want to keep your big diamond potential in your 8 hunting zones. And start you shooting your other zones that you dont hunt down on male level 1s, so trivials

I started my grind on laten lake but I just don't know how to do it

Layton is also a nice map to do it. You should use tents and tripods to fasttravel to every zone that you want to.
1.find all your drink zones(drink zones are best to grind)
2. You may find help finding your drink zones with the map from pro xck on yt.
3.start picking drink zones with big males in it. These are your mane zones. Should be 8 to 12.
4.start shooting in your main zones.

Grind with herd managment:
5. Leave your diamonds like hear 3s in your main zones.
6.the game will then spawn smaller animals
7. These smaller animals you want to get to your other zones outside your main 12 zones which will be 50 ro 55 and replace every male with smaller males
8. Game will then spawn more big animals and diamonds when you shoot your stacked 3s.

Herd managment is not Necessary for a great one grind but a great way to get diamonds and super rares

Yes, that's possible. I placed a barrel near the church for the mission, but no bears in sight. First, I put out feed, then I switched to meat, and got no better results.

If I understand correctly, the feeders have a range of about 400m. You shouldn't place the feeder directly on the point of need, but rather in a spot that will attract the animals from the points of need within a 400m radius.

Yes, I believe it takes time sometimes. Feeders attract animals when they are traveling between need zones; during their need times, they are in the zone.

Can someone help me figure out why my males are not respawning in their zones for the wolf grind? I am only 50 kills deep and in my first rotation one of my zones had 2 7's, a 6, and a 5. I shot both 7's because I know your supposed to shoot the biggest, next rotation it has been well over their respawn time and now there is only the level 5 and the level 6, I thought thats weird and shot the level 6 thinking maybe it would make the others respawn... well now in that zone all I have is a level 5 male and all the females and idk whats happpening. this isnt the only zone that its happening to for me btw

If you're wanting to know the best/preferable load outs, you can look on YouTube or ask here

Not really, as people's preferences get in the way, as well as what DLC they have. Generally you want the .243 to cover 2-4, then a rifle to cover 5-6 (like the 7mm), then a rifle to cover 7-9. Class 1 is I think limited to shotguns without any DLC, but the best shotgun in the game is still the Cacciatore 12G from base game. That will cover class 1, but at short range. Still a ton of fun

I think the base game 7-9 is the .338, but I could be wrong. You could also go the handgun route on that, so it depends on preferences etc etc

Depends on if you’re fussed about spooking the animals around you, I use a vehicle to go around the map just after a target species drink time to try and pickup zone markers !

as far as tips from myself, it depends on how you like to hunt, some like to go out targeting a specific species & some like to hunt whatever the run across.

If you’re looking for a certain species, make sure to find out their drink zones (if they have them) and their home ranges, because some animals can’t be found in certain parts of the map.
learn the guns, which guns to shoot which animals with, how to properly get a vital shot & which animals fur/plummage are rare (if that’s your thing).
if you ever have any specific question always feel free to check the search bar for if it’s been asked in the past & if not ask away. some people have been playing this game for ages and have tons of game knowledge, but it’s good to learn from everyone no matter the experience level!

I've started hunting wolves, they bring in decent money- but not quite as much as crocs. Big animals like buffalo/bison are good at bringing in the money too that I've found

You pay like 900 for 10x ammo, but if you bring in about 1k per animal you'll get around 9k back if you a good shot

I don't think pheasants or tahr do come to either feeder. These are mine for the post feeder so far;

I noticed there are no discovery zones for the Wild Boar!?!? In this case, it should attract those traveling between the zones within a 400m radius. You can use it directly on the zone, but it is more effective if you place it at a location that will attract multiple zones to that spot. The barrel is a bit more complex to manage and it doesn't always work in that location. When I see that no animal is going to eat, I move it to another location that has the same radius, sometimes they pass by somewhere else. For the feeder that keeps getting destroyed, I put up a pole instead, or I can use a barrel to lure the bears away from the box feeder.

Depends, do the animals you want to get to the feeder travel around that area or do they have a zone in the 400m? If they do, they should naturally start coming to the feeder during their feed time.

Sometimes it takes them a bit to start going to the feeder. I struggled getting Blacktail to my feeder despite them having 5 sleep zones in the area, while my Javan Rusa were almost past the 400m and still all of them came to the feeder.

Yeah, they are probably taking their sweet time going to the feeder 😄 I usually check the feeders; 1 hour after the feed time starts (if you plan on sitting closeby and trying to see which ones come in from a far, usually there are multiple of them there already at least for me) or 1 hour before it ends. Not sure on coyotes coming to any of the feeders 😮 only had them turn up during their "feed" time to "hunt" at one of the feeders once (same happened before on Parque with a puma, which then created a normal feed zone there, but I am not sure if this is an intended feature or if it was just pure luck of me setting on top of their normal feed zone), but I only see bears and pigs coming to the barrel feeder willingly. Goodluck on your hunts tho! 😄 That mission was driving me insane when I was a newbie.

out of curiosity, do the quadbikes affect the game in any way as i drove around the whole map unlocking all the outposts and stuff first and it seems like the animals have gone into hibernation or somthing

theres literally just moose and elk everywhere but i dont have a 308 yet to kill them 😬

They do scare everything around, so they are best to be used for collecting need zones (like drink zones after the animals finished drinking already) or unlocking stuff 😮 they can also be used to track down rabbits better since hares/rabbits are the only ones still making "warning" sounds while you drive around (and by my opinion, are much harder to spook than other animals). Just give the animals a few minutes, or go to the menu/close the game and open it again and they should be fixed.

If you can, I would advise looking for coyotes during their drink time from 0:00 - 4:00 (Layton/New England), 21:00 - 0:00 (Rancho). They can be much easier to find around lakes/rivers etc.

Hello can someone help me with my problem ?

When i use the brightside rangefinder on a bow and i go to the shooting range i notice that the green dot is not always accurate. For example set the target to either 50 or 150 and cycle through the zeroings of 20 40 and 60. You will see that the estimated green dot sometimes is more accurate on a couple zeroing and really off on another

Am i missing something ? Is the rangefinder only good for a certain arrow or should i use a certain zeroing ? I just dont get it

This is also not the issue of wind or wobble because the wind is 0 or 1 on the perk and i put the arrows on the exaact same place over and over so its shooting off i think

I believe this is because the green dot auto-sets to the middle zeroing and needs to be adjusted by actively hitting the keybind for rangefinding it; i believe it was R last I played but its been a few months cause college

I need help!! So I played COTW on my ps4 for years over 800hrs had just gotten my first G.O and then I got a PS5 when I downloaded the game back I downloaded the ps4 version because all my data was on my external hard drive on my ps4 (still use it on my ps5) it doesn’t let me “continue” when I open the game it only lets me pick new game. I’m afraid to do that because of all my stuff being lost. I still have all my add on packs but I really don’t wanna loose my stuff. I’ve also tried redownloading the data from my cloud storage and it still only lets me choose “new game”. PLEASE HELP!!

I believe the solution to this is to get PS+, upload your data to the cloud from your PS4, then download/access it from your PS5

Yes that is the way to do it

You need to:

• have a ps+ subscription
• upload your save data to the cloud on your PS4
• download the save data on the PS5

Then it should work. If not, I’d contact both EW and Sony for help
