How come when I look up all lakes with mule deer on asky ridge there’s a lot but when I go to them on my map ive only found 4 zones with like 2 each yet ive went through all the lakes?

Yes, be sure there are no obstacles; you should climb onto the snowdrift instead. When I'm crawling in the forest, I often use a tree trunk. That sometimes lifts me just above the vegetation. A rock works too, of course. That's not possible on a lake, but it's an example.

Here's something else I do, too. For example:
Let's say the animal is a Class 2. I have two choices: take the .22LR, or take a weapon that covers Classes 2–6. Your weapon would pass the harvest check, but it's very powerful for that specific class.
I would choose the weapon that passes the verification but is more powerful for the animal's class.

I took the Bloodhound first, especially when you're starting out in the game, as you'll often miss your shot. Once it's fully trained, you have the choice to train it for another task if you have the other dog (DLC), a Pointer or a Retriever; it will then have two tasks.
I have all three dogs, but you can only have two tasks.

everytime you kill an animal that has a great one it has a chance to respawn as a great one either you get lucky and it spawns after 10 or so kills or you kill thousands of animals without one

If you're starting out in the game, I strongly advise you to complete at least all the missions in the first two reserves. You need to learn the game and all its mechanics before trying to get a Great One.

My personal favorite is 'Shoot the rare fur color you want (say piebald) in any available species, and then solely hunt the species you are after (say red deer) that you want that pied fur in. Then the fur will 'go over' to the red deer and you can basically 'queue' the fur into the red deer respawns.'

I have been playing COTW for a while and have a few hours on it, and I was going to buy it in the autumn sale but a friend told me that the family sharing DLCs won't sync. I've been playing the game using Family sharing and my other friend (the one in the family who bought COTW) bought a few DLCs like Yukon Valley and the high caliber weapon pack, I want to play using the DLCs he has but I don't wanna buy them again as I can just play on his DLCs without buying the game. Revontuli is one of if not the best map for bird hunting

It’s decent for big game hunting albeit it’s not the map’s main focus, there’s moose, whitetail, and brown bear

For Small game it has mountain hare, raccoon dog and lynx

And for good gun, the 7mm will help you get through most animals since it goes from class 4 to 9 so you can hunt 70% of the games species with that gun

There’s a base game version that you’ll have to get Ingame cash to get or you can get the dlc 7mm which has 2 more rounds than the base game’s 7mm which has 1 round

Leave 5s until all your shooter zones are lined up, then start shooting and harvesting ONLY the deer that are L3, 4, 5

some good tips is try not to walk or run too much. crouching and watching your sound bar are important

animals will give you a warning call if they hear you being too loud. so listen for warning calls.

Is it just a 'shoot males that are something% of diamond score or bigger until you 'stack' them a little higher with every pass' or something

at the bottom right you see a compass and a green arrow thingy. this is the way the wind is facing. as you can see i am facing towards it so animals in that direction will basically be impossible to sneak up on

You can try resetting your time by sleeping in a nearby cabin and then sitting in some bushes so you're nice and hidden and using the caller. I use it every 25-40 seconds to keep them coming in and just turn up my volume and wait till I hear footsteps

For the blind, I get there earlier. The animals might position themselves within about a 50-meter radius of the spot, so place the blind around 75 meters (the distance of the first rifle zero point). Make sure you have good 360-degree visibility, and put the Foxpro near the spot.
However, if the animals are already there, I believe the distance is the same as for tents/blinds.
But I noticed that when I go out prone (crawling/lying down), I make much less noise, so they can be closer.

Here's a tip too: when you see the animal drop and you haven't had time to spot it with your binoculars, place a marker on its location. That way, if you look away from the spot while walking there, you'll still know exactly where it is. Or use the dog.

The Bloodhound is very practical, especially when you're starting out. You'll often miss the target and have to track it for 600m - 700m in all directions.
If you have the other DLC dogs, once your Bloodhound is fully trained, you can train it for a second task: either pointing or retrieving.
