Hi i unlocked the perk where i should be able to see the weight estimate but im now hunting moose and i cant see their weight estimate is there any reason for that?

When you grind, you get lots of kills- more exp

Or even just go to lots fo different need spots over the map and shoot them dead with vitals
(I believe if you hit a vital it gives more exp then non vital/no organs)

teleporting as in the concept of fast travel is pretty much just to not make the game miserable
it's understandable
but once you stray too far, you make a new boundry that can be broken... and so it keeps straying further and further from what it's meant to be

so you'll end up shooting unicorns

then they should have thought about all that before adding easily abusable mechanics in the game, just to punish the players for playing how they want

this feels similar as skill based matchmaking to me. helps the casuals punishes the hardcore

and when I am 800 kills deep in a grind and it gets patched and now I have to run HUNDREDS of meters wasting even more time just to get the same kills as before but like. 6 times slower. realism shouldn't create tedium. if I want tedium I'd pick up more shifts at work, ya know?

Idk if they're exactly like that, but I can say that:
12G is strongest
410 is weakest (one of the weakest guns in the game
in general)

Not sure about the other 2, but I think 16G is a bit stronger than 20G, correct me if I'm wrong

All in all they'll all kill class 1s fast (except for the 10G since it's bugged (I think it still is at least))

Yo guys i need big help. I have been grinding Moose on Medved Taiga and i have problem with respawns. If i shot Moose-easy/4 it respawns into Minor-2 on nearly every single lake. And also i didn´t get single Diamond in 500/600 kills

the tikka t3x lineup is just like one of the most common bolt action rifles on the matket

its surprising it doesn't have an ingame adaptation (ignoring super varmint that is a pretty heavy modification of the t3x chassis)

if I wanted a less basic rifle though I do really like the bergera b14 hmr/thumbhole chassis or one of the savage thumbholes

I'm having some heavy issues with the new map. I'm trying to do the mule deer grind here and I've chosen the best zones for the real grind. And after the first round of shooting a couple deer off the drink zone the entire herd has just disappeared. Doesn't matter how long I wait, adjust the time, log out and in the herd just never comes back and hasn't respawned elsewhere. I have 4 drink zones that where heavily populated that have just zipped out of existence.
I'm not sure what I may have done but has anyone else had this problem?

These weren't tiny herds either. 2 of the 4 were absolutely massive. 10+ deer.

It's put a weird tilt in my grind as I've shot down most of my other zones.

Best advice, since animals just don't delete from the population inventory - would be to take a thorough spin around the map and make sure that they didn't rehome

It could just be that you were at the wrong ones at the wrong time. Keep in mind fast travel spooks nearby creatures as well as placing tents or smth

So when spotting an animal from further than 170ish yards your not gonna see it's tracks. Especially from past a river or lake. Best bet is to just go over to where u shot it and find a blood trail

Guys, where to find diamond turkey for the achievement? Looks like all existing guides are outdated. I just cannot find anyone on the maps shared online. Turkeys doesn't have drink zones. I discovered several eat zones, but there are only weak species hanging out. According population scanner there are at least two diamonds somewhere on the map, but I have no idea where to deploy decoys and camp for them. I am playing on Silver Ridge.

Not necessarily. You should shoot any big turkeys you see, anything with a top 20 or 24 lb estimate (or whatever that is for you in kilograms) to increase your chances of spawning a diamond as well. That way any of those turkeys you shoot might respawn as a diamond.

Hello. I am thinking about dipping my toes into COTW. I have a laptop (lenovo) and play Classic at doable speeds with pretty much everything set to minimum, except for texture quality. I have heard that the graph settings on COTW are quite flexible. Can you get them low enough to run call of the wild aprox as fast as Classic on the same (rather old) laptop? I can give my specs, but prefer to do so in a DM to a moderator.

Rather than opening up a DM you can click on the tab that says Info in the channel listing - and then you can click the 'report' sub-tab and then you can 'contact a moderator' and it will open up a private chat without us having to be DM base only

However, I don't mind the slow realistic play, but I find it way to slow and animals scare way to far away.

I like COTW's UI, gear more etc. But, I do find animals are a lot easier to approach.
Is there a way to make the scare distance a little bigger?

I play mainly with a compound bow, but its still somewhat easy.
Would like to make it a little more challenging.

Yeah, I know. I tried to remove both wind and weather because I read that both can cause the issues.
So, I reset my skills/perks and it broke the Zeroing. Tried to reset skills several time as I read that is what most people do.
That didn't work, so I had to reset to a new game.
So, I did do my reading just so you know.

it's not very hard to figure out a Loadout for it that fits in 20kg

technically the most "optimal" would probabaly be something like 22 hornet and 7.62x54 but you have such little class variation you have so much weight to add random stuff

Stalker- Get the necessities that make it significantly easier to hunt. These would be Locate tracks, Only happy when it rains, track knowledge, soft feet, improvised blind, innate triangulation, endurance, and disturbed vegetation.

Ambusher- Again, the necessities. A lot of the skills in the ambusher tree are straight useless like Hill caller or Tag. Just work to get Spotting knowledge, sight spotting, and fatal attraction. Only put one point into scent tinkerer, dazed and confused, and fatal attraction to be able to spend all your points the best way.

Perks.

Rifles- Max out everything except windage. You can get Focused shot if you use iron sights a lot but you won't have a point to spend some where else. Remember to activate zeroing.

Handguns- Spend one point in everything except Survival Instinct and Quick draw, since these two are useless. Max out lightning hands.

Shotguns- Spend one point in Both eyes open and Body control. Max out Fast shouldering and Recoil management. The other two perks have no use since you'll have zeroing activated instead.

Archery- Don't spend anything here. Everything is just about useless. I've had great success with bows without any of these perks.
