the bloodhound can follow blood trails, the golden retriever can retrieve birds, the German shorthair pointer can identify and follow the scent of animals and "point" to them

though the radius of its search area for the pointer for anything under class 6 is like 100-150 meters tops

but 6 and over it's like 400 meters

the small search is also very rarely but occasionally good when you can't find a tiny 300 gram quail hidden in some bushes because it's the size of an orange

its quite a dated map with a lackluster roster in terms of just species numbers and limited in diverse environement though (and plus its weapon is a heavily underpowered one trick pony thats outclassed by 375) ((and the map has no g1))

it doesnt seem like the devs wanna make africa 2 either though which is disapointing

also the africa dlc is vurhonga and plus considering the only dlc yourve played on is vurhonga like, of course its the only dlc you would recomend

Time changes and sitting on every lake during their drink zone. Once a lake is all female stop visiting it. Either a Diamond or rare will come along eventually. Good Luck.

243 os a higher capable rifle for the classes which it is legal to shoot

if you're trying to shoot moose of course it won't work, if you're hunting whitetail, coyote, roe deer, etc it works well

HM is not required fyi.

If you do HM you need to find ALL of your zones. You then need to refind all of the new zones multiple times. At some point in finding all of your zones you pick the easiest to shoot and place tents/structures on. Shoot everything else down to low levels and then go nuts spawning dimes and hopefully a G1.

I'm 1100+ kills into my Red Deer HM grind and I've only seen 2 rares both being piebald. Is this normal or just terrible luck? One of the piebald is a lvl 3 so I left it in the zone to shoot after the G1 spawns. Could it be the reason why I'm seen none?

Expansion vs penetration is easy. Expansion means if you hit let’s say the lung that bullet does more damage to it killing the animal faster. Penetration means your bullet goes farther but won’t do as much damage

Every gun has there effective range so if your closer then that range expansion does its full damage. Farther then the range means the bullet loses effectiveness and that’s when penetration is better.

Just got into the game. What do you all recommend doing? I've got Emerald Coast, Yukon, Tents and Trippds, ATV, and Modern Rifles DLC's. Any tips for learning the game and also progressing my character? I've been farming crocs along the coast to fund new gear.

Found about seven golds, no diamonds. So shooting a diamond croc is definitely my goal for now.

Hello, new player here and I sadly have some stupid questions possibly. I’ve come to learn that yer limited in skill and perk points, and while I understand it I’m wondering if anyone’s made a mode to allow you to unlock everything properly? Via extra points or just removing limits. If not, my second inquiry would be if anyone’s got a good bead on a JOA trades build perhaps?

And wondering if you can run all 3 dogs at once too, just out of curiosity

There is no way to get more skill or perk points than max and you can only have one dog out at once

Only one dog. But once it's completely maxed it can learn some skills from one of the other 2.

Like you can teach your bloodhound to retrieve or point.

Nah nah I choose JOA cause it’s a personal prefetence and I really have no leans myself

I prefer being equally good at everything

If I can’t have it all, this is my chosen equilibrium

Only thing I’m short on is the archery perks but it’s still very possible I just choose not to do it

Stalker- Get the necessities that make it significantly easier to hunt. These would be Locate tracks, Only happy when it rains, track knowledge, soft feet, improvised blind, innate triangulation, endurance, and disturbed vegetation.

Ambusher- Again, the necessities. A lot of the skills in the ambusher tree are straight useless like Hill caller or Tag. Just work to get Spotting knowledge, sight spotting, and fatal attraction. Only put one point into scent tinkerer, dazed and confused, and fatal attraction to be able to spend all your points the best way.

Perks.

Rifles- Max out everything except windage. You can get Focused shot if you use iron sights a lot but you won't have a point to spend some where else. Remember to activate zeroing.

Handguns- Spend one point in everything except Survival Instinct and Quick draw, since these two are useless. Max out lightning hands.

Shotguns- Spend one point in Both eyes open and Body control. Max out Fast shouldering and Recoil management. The other two perks have no use since you'll have zeroing activated instead.

Archery- Don't spend anything here. Everything is just about useless. I've had great success with bows without any of these perks.

My pointer is maxed (he was easy, since he could "point" a lot) and has retrieving.

Retriever brings back water animals and turkeys and stuff.

So when I'm at a drink zone and something flies in, I can shoot it and have him go get it.
