it also depends on the map, take layton lake and hirschfelden, hirsch has less callers to carry, only 1 excess with 4 weapons

Don't update or paly the game, this is an update to update your game when you shouldn't be able to. This has been caused due to either a Microsoft Error or Expansive World error. If you have already dowloads this I recommand not playing the game till release or you have a chance to loose your file.

As far as I know, the photos on cotw don't get saved to anywhere on console, it's basically useless besides for missions. BUT to get saveable images just take a screenshot on your console (idk how to do that on Xbox, but ps has a capture button) @fading pumice

Ok so question. I have 8 diamond red deer stacked on the map, but some of the red deer that are diamond are in zones with a level 3 or 4 male, so first question is how do I combat that? Then I know that I should try and get my main eight zones but most of my bigger males are coming from solo zones now and the herds that I do have are filled with like a level 7 then a level 3. So should I kill that level 3 and try and get a higher respawn to make it a main zone? I’m on Xbox and I don’t know if that trick with swapping a solo male with another male works so I just wanted to ask. Thanks

For ps5 games like Spiderman 2, the last of us, and assassin's creed shadows you get full graphics at 60fps. On the base ps5 the performance video mode you sacrifice graphics for 60fps. Some ps5 games suport PSSR. The resolution and sharpness on a 4k oled monitor is just insane. For ps4 games you can turn on enhanced image quality for ps4 games. It does seem to make call of the wild a little sharper but hardly noticeable.

But probably not worth it unless you really desire graphics. It didn't come with a disc drive. I had to buy a disc drive off a darn scalper on Facebook marketplace.

I don't know about the stuff at the beginning, but did you pay for the DLCs? Because if so, then no. You will not lose them. That would be like losing a Call of Duty map pack because you deleted your save data. DLCs are tied to your account, save data is tied to your system/cloud backup.

I placed a tent on every single possible lake (in some cases I had to use 1 tent for 3 lakes for example), then switched it to Mule Deer drink time, and found all the zones just like that (on Askiy Ridge)

You could also try and use a private multiplayer server, which for whatever reason helps push your animals out to their zones

I got 23 zones in like an hour with this, it's really efficient

Beginning of the grind they look at how many kills are in the log. Then at the end of each session they look at the number again and record it. That's one of the easiest ways. Some people are insane enough to manually count each animal on their phone with an app.

Howdy everyone, is there a written guide anywhere explaining some community tactics? On the subreddit I saw people asking about specific zone checking, herd management/stacking, and I want to know where I can learn these as I play the game please

herd management and stacking arnt really things you need to worry about unless you're planning on starting a grind on a specific animal for diamonds/super rares for however many hundreds or thousands of kills

there's lots of guides on YouTube or Reddit but to simply it

"herd management" shooting the larger animals within a herd (usually above a certain score threshold) and leaving the smaller animals in the herd to attempt to get the respawning animals to spawn smaller

"stacking" is leaving the high levels and killing everything lower then that so that the herd ends up becoming only high levels

you will usually stack at a zone you want to shoot once you get the grind going and you'll want to herd manage everything that you don't wanna shoot so that your zones you're not looking at have tons of small animals and the zones you are shooting only want to respawn big animals (cos all the other zones have small animals) since the game balances the spawns of animals to attempt to maintain a relative spread of every score of animal

So if I had idk, Mule Deer drinking zones A and B, I'd shoot the bigger animals at A to make smaller animals spawn there, and then at B I'd shoot the smaller animals to trick larger ones to spawn in to then hunt that zone properly later?

but this can scale up to 30-50-100 zones

but it also sorta ruins the fun when you manipulate the respawn mechanics and desensitises you to actually enjoying the game and turns it into a job

technically once you manage most of the other (small boy) zones down you only need to shoot like 5 of them that you designated to be big boy shooting zones for the actual grind though

If you don't mind my asking as well; When looking at an animal can I manipulate its rating in anyway, through difficulty of the shot or angle, or is it based more on their randomized fur colours trophy organs etc that get determined when they spawn?

the score of the animal cannot be increased or decreased at all when you shoot it, it is what it is but if you fail any of the 4/5 harvest checks it will bump it's trophy medal down 1 rank so a gold will become a silver etc

and failing a harvest check includes

not hitting a vital organ (lungs, heart, liver, neck, brain)
hitting the animal with more then 2 seperate shots of your gun
hitting the trophy organ (eg if the animal has a trophy skull, hitting it in the skull will ruin it)
not using a legal caliber for the class of animal you are shooting (eg using a class 7-9 .375 rifle on a duck)

and for some animals like pheasants and quails they must be shot while not on the ground or else it does not award you a trophy medal

Main zones are the ones that you grind on. Exterior zone are the ones that you have managed down to low levels

Stalker- Get the necessities that make it significantly easier to hunt. These would be Locate tracks, Only happy when it rains, track knowledge, soft feet, improvised blind, innate triangulation, endurance, and disturbed vegetation.

Ambusher- Again, the necessities. A lot of the skills in the ambusher tree are straight useless like Hill caller or Tag. Just work to get Spotting knowledge, sight spotting, and fatal attraction. Only put one point into scent tinkerer, dazed and confused, and fatal attraction to be able to spend all your points the best way.

Perks.

Rifles- Max out everything except windage. You can get Focused shot if you use iron sights a lot but you won't have a point to spend some where else. Remember to activate zeroing.

Handguns- Spend one point in everything except Survival Instinct and Quick draw, since these two are useless. Max out lightning hands.

Shotguns- Spend one point in Both eyes open and Body control. Max out Fast shouldering and Recoil management. The other two perks have no use since you'll have zeroing activated instead.

Archery- Don't spend anything here. Everything is just about useless. I've had great success with bows without any of these perks.
