I'm on my first GO grind and I chose red foxes on salzwiesen. (the island method). After one round of shooting I think I'm supposed to main menu and reset time. The problem with that is the respawned foxes take FOREVER to walk to their drinking zones so I need to wait like 10 minutes before I start another round. Is this normal or am i missing something?

I actually want to confirm one thing. So I load into salzwiesen -> I change the time to 19:00 ish -> kill some foxes -> main menu -> change time back to 19:00 ish -> one minute back -> kill foxes again and repeat?

You don't need to main menu as they are predators but yes.

As they are in pairs, you need to kill both, and solos they will respawn. You only main menu if u miss a fox or if its a head grind.

Put a blind down. Check what direction the wind is blowing, and then put down your decoys in that direction

For ducks do this on water

For geese do it in open fields

and if the animal is at the zone when you leave, the time should still be zone-time when you return

I'm trying to find a loadout that covers all the possible classes, right now i'm using the modern weapons .308, the .22lr from the same pack, and the .16G/9.3X73R drilling rifle. the issue is there's a small gap in the classes which encompasses animals such as springbok, tahr and the occasional sika deer, any advice?

Right now I'm using the .300 for class 7-9, quist reaper for class 2-6, and 22lr for class 1. The 7mm is good for class 4-9 so you won't have to carry a class 7-9 rifle.

you could also just be wiffing your shots on any vitals or just using a caliber way smaller then what you should be

Heya question about managing croc in EC. Do I first need to shoot all high ones in the mangroves and after they are al gone shoot the low on the beach. Or could I also do this together? So shooting high ones on the mangroves while also shooting the low ones on the beach until it's swapped. Or doesn't it really matter?

Shoot the much larger crocs out of the mangroves first, like levels 7-9

Then try to get the low levels on the beach, and leave level 6 and up

And then try to manage down the rest of the ones in the mangroves

Having said that - as far as I know it's already 60fps on PS5 and it does looks gorgeous (I posted screenshot above).
Not sure how much a PS5 upgrade could add.

If they release a ps5 call of the wild many wouldn't upgrade if they can't play with their friends who are still on ps4.

The feeding zones theres NEVER any animal - the next water source is like 200m outside of the Zone D: its frustrating a bit, kinda new into the game around 60h and i wanna get this done -.-^^

I wanted to test few, coz the preview is crap and does not look the same as in game and I had to pay for switching back to the previous ones I already paid for. Am I missing something? 243 soft points should work in the 243 ranger if you click on them in the inventory menu then click on the rifle

243 polymer tips also work with the 243 rifle too

also btw incase you dont know, 243 is only ethical for the animal classes 2-6 as it says in the menu when you try and buy or hover over it in the inventory so you should only be tryng to shoot classes 2-6 with it

and when you spot an animal and highlight it it tells you the class number in the top right which will be between 1 and 9

Is there a site where I can find the need zones?

The way you find need zones is when an animal is currently in its zone, ie its drinking and you spot it. Your map will then get a drinking icon where that animals zone is. The other way to find zones is if you pick up the indicator. Sometimes when you are walking by water, there will be a circle of footprints. That is an indication of a drink zone. There’re also feed and rest zone indicators. Feeding is a carcass for predators and highlighted grass for herbivores. Rest zones generally look like nests. Said zones will be all over the map. It’s just about exploring and finding them.

I've got a set down for Hirschfelden with all the animals and am planning on Layton Lakes next

I've been using my own for a few months back when i first started concepting and I've found them so so handy, especially as i'm doing story missions in the first two maps right now!!

Are need zones connected to spawn rates somehow? I see different theories about it. But I was setting up a croc hunt and the spawn rate was consistently low on the beach. I took several kills and days to get some respawns there. I never knew there were rest zones in a small mangrove west from the bigger ones. As soon as I found the rest zones there suddenly the next day the whole beach was full of crocs and they respawn everyday again as well

No. The bigger crocs in the mangroves are causing the crocs in the beach to respawn as low levels. Just how the game works

there can be a LOT of big crocs in the mangroves, i've found diamonds that have just attacked me whilst im wandering through there, i'd suggest taking a few walks down there and thinning out the population

yeah they can spawn anywhere , may just be heavier on the mangroves then, there will always be a vaguely set number of animals on the map, that won't ever change , you can't "lose" them as such, they just may relocate.

aside from when theyre in respawn purgatory of course

search these three areas, that's where they can also spawn / relocate too once shot

the beach should have on average around 35-40 crocs as far as i'm aware?

i've been grinding them a bit today , that figure seems likely

Yeah I got them now. But after I found all rest zones (I missed like 5) the spawns on the beach are way more consistent (I mean the amount of crocs)
So do they respawn on not found need zones untill you find those and they respawn back on the old places?

this is only really an occurrence on the savannah map, and also an odd spot in layton i think, (animals could literally be drinking out of the grass or dirt in some spots) all the other maps have the water sources very clearly defined (snowy maps , medved and alberta have the frozen over lakes but theyre still visible to some extent)
just founds like a very sneaky fallow deer unfortunately

Then yeah you should do herd management

Stack diamonds in your main zones and then shoot down your exterior zones to low levels

Once all your exterior zones are all low levels then you can shoot the diamonds
