no no no, when hunteing one specific animal you should go look at their drink zones. SOme Animals dont have drink zones, like crocodiles, so you cant hunt them then.

I'm playing layton lake and trying to use my tents and structures wisely

Place all tents at least 230m away from the zone you planning to hunt so it doesn't spook animals that's basically the only effect they have.

Portable hunting structures is for all intensive purposes just preference everybody uses tripods because they are the most convenient and gives the most visibility to look around but can't be used in all situations.

And I have better ability to answer questions then give tips because there's a lot of stuff in this game

This is mine it's definitely not universal to everyone everyone has different preferences or how they play but to at least give you a rough estimate on how mine is you'll most likely reset them a handful of times until you get exactly how you like it

the RNG for great ones is noticeably different to something like rares or diamonds

from a few hundred to ~10,000 kills to get a G1

depends on how good the setup is which is only really influenced by rng

and no, a G1 is not a mythical. it's a unique level 10 - Fabled

Recording the bug helps them fix it because it doesn't always happen to everyone. It doesn't happen to me. If you record it, they may know how the bug is happening. There is no other way for them to do it.

the senses description on the codex, it is incredibly confusing! Some animals have the three core senses fully documented, whilst others miss them out, even f it's something that would obviously be good, like a red foxes sense of smell.
What i'd like to understand is , when it's not obvious what should we assume the missing sense is like? do we assume it is poor or good or completely baseline average? I'd be hesitant to go by real world standards. Whilst i like the individual notes , trying to work out these things during a hunt can be frustrating, has anyone else dealt with this before?

Probably not very common. I think most people just use polymer tip from comments I've read/heard.

I've tried to experiment with both a little bit and didn't really come to a consistent conclusion. I liked .338 soft point for bison/banteng and similar. It seemed like a soft point single lung killed quicker than the polymer tip single lung I was getting most of the time anyway. It feels kinda niche though.

You are pretty safe to use soft point and get good results if you are hunting at the bottom end of the class range of whatever weapon you are using, but that kinda goes for polymer tip as well so 🤷‍♂️.

Anyone got tips on how to deal with the sway of the firearms? even with the steady hands perk maxed out, it is still rather difficult for me to hit good shots due to the sway with high magnification sights like some 4-12x scope that i have right now. If eel like i am fighting the sway more than i'd like to while crouched...

even then it still feels kind of harsh for me personally. And other than on watering holes, the shrubbery does not really allow me to aim while in prone at all because the grass covers my view a fair bit.

one is the Eckers .03-06 Elegance and the other is the Ranger .243 rifle, each with polymer tip. and range, i oftentimes shoot at 150ish meters, since i still am attrocious at getting any closer than that (mostly cause i still am not used to the super-slow appproach i need to take to get closer)

My recommendation is to use x4-8 until you are comfortable with shooting.

Welp in the last years game added lots of different bows. Some can equip scopes, others dont.
Also some difference in arrow penetration. For example Alexander bow has higher penetration arrows, but no scope.

There is 4 types of bows that are compitable with brightsight rangefinder bow sight. Try those first. You can predict arrow hit point by pressing reload key before shooting.

At least those are easier to understand and master.

High firing rate allow you to deal 2 shot pretty fast on same target while it don't understand what is happening.
Can be tricky to control recoil on low level perks. So actually demanding a lvl 60 Hunter character.

Also Automatic Rifles are pretty bad with x8-16 scopes. You loose your target between shots.
So best use scopes x4-8 or x4-12 from recent DLC.
