Pointer dog makes it a hell of a lot easier to hunt them. the dog will sneak in and point, then you can use a flush command which they flush out of the hole theyre in and they typically fush towards you when theyre flushed

You could do that with a single shotgun if you want to, just make sure you're carrying all the ammo types for it. (Birdshot, buckshot and slugs.) That would limit your range though.

Alternatively, you want to take a .22LR for class 1, something like the .243 for class 2 & 3, a .308 or similar for class 4-8 and maybe a 300 or 338 for 7-9.
Everyone will have their own preferences though.

Hello guys! I wanted to check out some duck/waterfowl hunting. Should I do hirsch or revontuli, does it matter? I have blinds and decoys and as far as I know you need about 20 decoys for max attraction. They don't care about need zones so a tripod/blind and I shouldn't care for the pressure. Do you guys have any other tips? Like for example, what shotgun should I get? I hear the one locked behind a lot of shotgun xp is good

The hot fix they just put out made great one pheasant grinding harder

They changed it from being able to put a tent on top of the zone and when you fast traveled they would run around for a minute then you could shoot them. Now the pheasant if you fast traveled close to them they fly away immediately

If you play a decent bit and have good aim then things aren’t changed to bad but if you aren’t the best at aiming I saw that if you set up the pheasant grind like you would like any other great one and shoot them with the 22 then it works pretty good

1. Choose your main zones
2. Setup on the main zones and start shooting any level males except for level 5
3. Once you have around 12 level 5s stacked in the mains (could be more if you want) go to the exteriors and shoot them down to level 1-2s (or level 3 males aswell if you want to be quicker but less effective)
4. Once that’s done return to the mains, kill the 5s, and continue shooting any males that spawn in them

If it's something like a pheasant, you can't shoot them grounded, otherwise you get no score since it's unsportsmanlike. Other animals like doe (female deer) that have no trophy will not give you a trophy score, so it will say none.

Just be careful with pressure, make sure you find nice zones with two males so you don't overpressure the zone and make sure your other main zones are a decent bit away from the others so you, again, don't accidentally kill the zone

It's virtually the same as normal grind just with less KPH and more walking

Pointer helps before the kill, Retriever and Tracker help after the kill. If you're a bird hunter, Pointer/Retriever is great - they're both involved. I hunt more big animals, so Tracker/Pointer seems like the best combo.

im currently setting up HM for red deer. One of my main lakes have 3 level 9's stacked across 3 of the zones and some level 7's here and there. my other main lakes have levels 5 and 6's and a few level 7's, but then I also have 2 main lakes with low levels ranging from 3-5 and one or two 6's and a few female only herds. My exterior lakes are also not managed and most of them have level 5,6 and 7 red deer. I have one exterior which i think is managed relatively well, with only level 4's and one 5, but there's a solo level 7 nearby. What should i do to complete my HM from here?

Oh yeah and I also have an exterior with loads of level 6 and 7 solos

Need some tips on getting fallow deer in Hirschfelden. Got one but been stuck on getting second for a week. Got some pressure on the quest area but not too much, yet cant find any in the cornfields where i need to harvest. Horn lure aint doing nothing too

The only need zone for fallow deer I got around the cornfield quest zone is on the border of it and I need to harvest the deer inside the zone so hunting there is sketchy and its pressured now anyways. I got the 1st one there, managed to make it flee into the fields

Game said fallow prefer pasture/leafy forest border zone, but there is only a little bit of that in the quest zone. Rest if coniferous, so its hard to find em

Yeah the "story" quest in Hirsch. Thats what I cliked when I first booted up the game. If there is a better place or way to start then let me know.
Thought about switching reserves but f.e. in Snowrunner jumping areas randomly make you not complete anything anywhere so im scared of that

In Salzwiesen you have to kill a bird in flight with a bow for one mission. Any tips on how to do that?

Has to be an upland bird too, so Pheasant or Grouse. You could probably use the pointer dog to go and flush them out, but either way you probably want to find a need zone and sneak to within 60 metres.

Based on the recent update, steam cloud saves have been clashing with local saves, personally my steam cloud saves has never updated for about a year, so I’ve been relying on cotw local saves. If your friend chose to use their steam cloud save it may have swapped from their local save (level 20) to steam cloud saves which would be level 1. I never turned off steam cloud saving cotw so it must of been bugged for awhile since my last steam cloud save was in 2023 😭

I’m not 100% sure whether their local save was deleted or not although if your friends level 20 progress was saved by steam then they should be able to revert back to their steam saves. This is just my idea though could be wrong
