Selecting a quest activates map points and zones related to the quest - wouldn't work well if they were all active

Level 5s are what you really wanna aim for. Fours can make diamond but its pretty uncommon. So keep shootin the level 3s and above, and let some twos roam.

Hey, i wasn`t starting the game for about one month. Now i came back from holidays and wanted to play, but the game started downloading 85GB of data. Was there some MASSIVE Update I missed, or is the game reinstalling for some reason? I'm using Steam and just pressed the Play-Button in it's launcher. Sometimes animals arrive late to their zone. If the zone is 12-15:30 perse, the pigs might not show up until after 14:00

It was just happening to me earlier with pronghorn where they didnt show up until the last hour

It wasn't a hunting pressure thing, zone time is an estimate of when they'll be there, they can arrive late or leave early

if there's too much hunting pressure the zone will delete, outside of that, there's no way to make an animal leave that zone.

Sorry if this is kinda long. I’m just looking for some corrections on my understanding of herd management? Videos just don’t really work for me and I’m kinda working off what I think I understand so I’d really like to try and go from there…

If I’m not mistaken, the basics are generally:

There are 6(?) species with G1s and they all have the same(?) general idea, that branch into slightly different methods per species. Irregardless of species, the first thing you want to do is discover all water zones for the one you’re hunting. That basically registers all herds of that species? Pick 10+ “target” zones (aka herds?) to “favorite”. All other zones are “outer zones”. First, focus on hunting ONLY males in outer zones until all the males are low quality depending on the species (below). Then, when all males in your outer zones are below a certain quality, focus on hunting the males in your “target” zones.

Is anything/everything wrong with that? 😅

Yeah you will need to kill the small males in your target zones and leave any max lvls that spawn in your target zones until you reach the desired number of low level males in your outer zones

The more low levels in your outer zones the better however the more picky you are the longer it will take to get that set up

Whitetail only go to lvl 3 so only leave small 2s(ones that are the same estimate as lvl 1s) and 1s in outer zones, get outer zones down to all lvl 1s and small 2s and maybe a few medium size lvl 2s. Red deer males only go down to lvl 2 afaik so leave 2s 3s and 4s and probably 5s in outerzones unless someone says otherwise. Bears I would say are the same as red deer. Fallow you can leave 3s that are the size of 2s. And tahr the same as Fallow I imagine. The 300 is better than the 338 and a lot of people just use the 300 ar on anything they dont consider a trophy and then use the 308 is the 300 doesnt ethically cover. Do what you want there but the 300 ar and the 308 ar are basically the 2 best options. If you dont have them in the ar platform or at all the 303, 30-06, 7mm, and 338 would all be fine options.

Cheela has always been a pain for coyotes, especially after the location changes. Best thing to try is their drink zones and if there aren't any in Cheela, try deleting zones in other areas to try and get a drink zone to appear where you want it.

Just be prepared for it to take a while if you do. I spent weeks trying to complete the coyote missions in Layton
