I find the 7mm so versatile with it's ammo type, but not sure if I'm missing something.

Also, why would I ever pick a .300 or a .308 over 7mm, when the 7mm can kill more classes and covers the same classes as the others? Never understood that.

Your observations are correct. The 300 will bring down the animals quickly, so less tracking and you can get on to the next kill. The 7mm is a great weapon, and if you enjoy it, then no reason to use anything else.

The game orginal guns were 243, 7mm, and 338. You did not need anything else until they brought in class 1 animals (rabbits, ducks). So if you are not planning on hunting class 1, all you will need is the 7mm and 243.

Players like to change it up. Sounds, looks, and different take down times are what you get with them. Personally, if you are new to the game, spend money on new maps(since you like the 7mm) and see if the game brings entertainment for you. If so, then later on maybe look at getting the package with weapons 1 in it. It's all what brings entertainment to you that matter.

Key binding is usually ref to keyboards. That's my confusion.
No there's no way to redo the controller settings from the way they have it. The way I was able to get what you are talking about, is to get a expensive controller the fusion and remap the controller. That's the only way you can remap a controller.

Tripod reduces hunting pressure at any distance. Your concerns should be distance and location for good wind, good sight-line to the zone, distance for callers, and distance to not spook them getting to it.
