Penetration is always the best pick. You have a higher likelyhood to get an organ hit due to the bullet penetrating deeper, and thus less likely to spend the next hour of your life going after a buck slowly bleeding out due to a shallow fleshwound

Depending on the map you use, some maps don't have large animals. If you can't find any animals, try and look around the lakes and rivers for any tracks, that'll give you an idea for the animal drinking times and drink zones

Best way (easiest) is to hunt drinktimes. follow (slowly dont run) rivers and lakes to catch animals drinking

If you run you can scare them off from quite a long way away

Rivers lakes are also good for visibility, easier to spot that forests

expansion expands

and, I personally don’t pay attention to either and just always go with polymer tip

iirc Expansion deals more damage to an organ when it hits, but Penetration allows it to hit more organs more easily, which will drop animals faster

penetration is also more forgiving on big game like moose and elk

So basically Penetration is better lol, unless there are some niche situations where Expansion is more ideal (havent found any myself yet)

the first stag you spot has the zone tied to him

even if hes part of a 15 deer herd

so if you kill him

you lose the zone

it's why I spot the females first to tie the zone down

Hey I got a question I'm trying to grind whitetail but they ain't showing up to there zones at the right times normally I change the time to 8:35 and some will be walking to there zones so I'll normally wait a few minutes in-game till 8:45 and do a look around all the zones and nothing so then when it's 9:35 still no whitetail and normally there are then they finally show up at 11:37 and leave at 12 anyone know what's going on?

To get a gold trophy rating you have to pass the harvest check even if the animal has the trophy rating met, right? cause I downed a fallow deer having shot it thrice (my bad the third shot) and despite having a trophy rating of 201 (gold's 187) it didn't give me a gold rating
