The way i can best explain it (someone else can correct me) expansion is essentially overall damage, while penetration actually goes through the target. Penetration is (imo) always better than expansion as you can actually hit the heart or double lung or other organs, while with expansion you have to be very careful on shot placement to only single lung animals

Overall polymer bullets will (once again in my opinion) will always be better

Get The high Cali weapon pack and Sundarpatan and aim for the lungs

• Always try and aim for the lungs so you can get a vital shot. This is done by aiming slightly behind the animal's shoulder/leg on their ribs.
• When your shot killed an animal, it'll create a purple blotch on the map called Hunting pressure. At the center of this blotch is where you shot the animal, so if you can't find the tracks, look there.
• For best results, make sure that the animals are shot with their corresponding Class type ammo. No need to shoot a poor rabbit with a 470 Nitro when they need a .22 at best. You can only shoot an animal twice before it ruins their trophy, and avoid shooting them in the skull as this is the trophy organ for most animals.
• Once you've stacked hunting pressure trice, you best need to move on. If you shoot 4 animals in the same zone, all need zones in that area will disappear as the animal finds that area too dangerous. You can shoot more animals if you shoot from a hunting stand, or with a silent weapon such as a bow. This silent effect can be stacked (bow and hunting stand), allowing you to kill I believe 16 animals before needing to move.
• Animals have 5 moods; Neutral( Eating, Drinking, Traveling, Resting) where they haven't spotted you. Attentive, where they are aware something is approaching but they don't feel threatened yet. Alert; they know where you are and will turn to you, alarm call and slowly walk away before returning to their spot. if you do not hide, they will go to Fleeing. Lastly is Nervous, which indicates the animal has been hunted before and will alert quicker than normal. This usually happens when they move through a Hunting Pressure zone.

you used hm, you didn’t shoot down solo’s and you don’t stack

you stack and once your map is pretty stacked with max level (3,5,9) i’d recommend shooting solo’s down first as they tend to be the more annoying experience and then shoot down other zones
In the beginning you will have 16 tents down, 8 on mains, 8 on exteriors the main goal is shooting exteriors down and stacking in mains, while doing this you can shoot solo’s, once the 8 exteriors are dropped, pickup the 8 exterior tents and rinse and repeat with other exteriors/solo’s

I enjoy blind hunting in this game but I ALWAYS get warning called even if they don’t see me or hear me or smell me I always get warning called and the herd always flees. What am I doing wrong? Im not moving and have scent elimination on while in a blind I feel I shouldn’t be warned

for the bear GO i watched I Buys guide and his tent placement for the top right one of the four lakes no longer works so where would i place it?

i place mine at the top of the lake where sometimes you might get a bear (it’s very rare and i don’t have issues with it) i place it more towards the left side of the top as you want to be able to see the bottom zone aswell.

works like a charm and even when i get the occasional bear there most of the time the other bear go alert instead of fleeing

Anybody got some tips and tricks i discoverd all my moose zones i thinnk (i got around 80) on Medved but my and i am trying to switch high level solo males whit low level males but i waited 30 minutes for it to see if it would respawn but i still it didn't respawn

great ones have a random spawn chance, dont know it but most people I think tend to shoot 1.5-2k animals before getting lucky

So you keep shooting and collecting until that random chance hits and a great one spawns in

Then dont botch the shot

My red one grind was thankfully sub 1k kills, I have heard of people getting initial great one spawns so 0 kills in, and I have heard of people shooting over 5000 deer to get theirs

cotw has some really great youtubers though with lots of good guides on how to get a great one

I've joined this server today, because I have ran into an issue! I just recently got the quest that I have to use the Roe Deer Urine scent to harvest 3 Roe Deer, but after the first use, it had quit working. Has anyone else ran into this problem, and how did you fix it?

3. Shutting off my computer and turning it back on

No two racks are the same

But there are general frames that animals have

That can be used to judge the trophy score of an animal

The width of the frame and the length of the tines are randomly generated though

im doing a black bear grind and the majority of my big bears on my main lakes disappeared and i am having a hard time even finding big bears

Find it's tracks and follow I suspect

I imagine even durign the mission it still behaves like a normal animal because it does that if you photograph it not kill it

you can’t really mess up a bear grind, more than likely the big bear probably bounces out to an exterior zone, check your exteriors and if you see one shoot, leave on ground.

i’d imagine as long as you still have the mission involving the moose it’d still be there, if the issue is it won’t show up now, maybe main menu and try again to reset its spook
