Alright I’m doing a red deer grind on the awora, I’ve found every single zone and fully unlocked my map with every outpost and lookout tower, I’ve counted every male in each lake and have a good guess at my current amount of males on the map. My zones are more concentrated and less spread out which can be hard. Anyways I’m yapping lemme get to the point.

Goal: herd manage as precisely as possible, diamond stack.

Questions: should I eradicate every red deer level 6 and below? Or should I go lower and stick to 5 and below? (I have lots of 6’s).
Question 2: at what point do I shoot my 7’s and above?

Q1; keep 5 and below if you want moderately good HM, but 4 and below if you want insane HM
Q2; shoot 7s and only stack large 8s and 9s, try to stack as big of guaranteed dimes or massive trolls as you can

Uhm- it's more like this- you wanna manage the majority of your map to spawn in bigger trophies, so you want at the very least 70% of your population of reds to be small 5 or 4s, leaving the rest to respawn as larger trophy rated animals (basically, you want most of them to be small so the ones yoh actually shoot spawn as big)

hey, i figure this is a common problem that may have a common solution i'm just a bit too daft to notice. i've had issues with COTW randomly crashing, it seems to follow after i've shot something than anything else, but it can still occur without any prompting (and has happened while i was just AFK in menu checking something on the wiki...). my specs are more than appropriate, as is where the game is being stored. is this just Steam Games being Steam Games?

Save harvest is when you don't have enough money to taxidermy and has a limited amount of spaces but costs no money. Meanwhile Taxidermize allows you to display your trophy in your lodge at the cost of fixing the animal corpse and well, taxidermizing it. (removing all spoilable items from the corpse and making a frame for the skin to be attached to in a lifelike resemblance of the animal)

The value is based on ethically killing the animal. Wrong ammo isn't ethical even if it's by a slight margin, so the game doesn't care if the bullet is slightly bigger, it's still too big for the critter.

If you don’t have zeroing the default zero is now 75m,82yrds for most rifles. So you could’ve missed it if that’s the case

Also even with zeroing you have to toggle it now to 150m 164 yrds as it starts at 82 now

Especially since soft points stop if it hits any bone or anything not soft like an organ

Its kinda pointless but it pretty much tells you a rough size estimate of the creature, for example a level 5 Red Deer is gonna be considerably smaller then a Level 9, it can also affect how fast they detect you but I really feel like it doesn't all that much
