Taxidermy is where the perishable parts of the animal are removed (meat, organs etc) and replaced with a construction to pin the hide on. That way one can preserve how the animal looked like as a trophy without it rotting away after a few hours.

Taxidermy costs a lot of money, so only Taxi what you want to keep of your trophies. No use in preserving every animal you shot

Personally, no. While it may be interesting for if you intent to hunt only far away animals, if you manage to stumble on an animal close by, there's no way to zoom out beyond 8x zoom.

From what I can find, the Zarza .308 has higher accuracy, less recoil but slightly longer reload time. Meanwhile the M1 Iwaniec .30-06 has slightly more penetration on the polymer bullets than the 308 bullets.

After you've shot your animal, look at the map. Killing an animal creates hunting pressure, symbolized by a purple mark (or black if you've shot from a hunting stand).

At the center of this circle is the location where you've shot the animal. If you can't find tracks or blood, try and go to the middle of this circle. Usually the dog is able to find the blood there.

if you don't find this hunting pressure bubble, it means the animal hasn't died and is still roaming around.

If you get the perk zeroing, you can alter your standard bullet drop/ distance you can shoot from. For most rifles, the max then becomes 300 meters but you can still shoot beyond that by aiming slightly above the animal.

I guess technically if you're skilled enough, you could shoot an animal at rendering distance and get a kill. I'm not sure but I believe render distance depends on your graphics settings

The next mission is to find Blacktail tracks, not investigating bears. Investigating bears comes after you go to the outpost in Roon. Normally, I do the Hope camp mission, then continue on over the Roon Bridge to the outpost. That unlocks the bear related missions

Yeah your dog is growling. They do that when theres any predator nearby, even small ones like bobcat or fox. They'll growl at any predator (even non-aggressive ones) but when ANY animal goes aggressive they bark
