you'll still end up using both because the individuals weigh 0.5 and they work slightly differently. I love the Ambusher pack though, I think that ecaller is a lot of fun and the Moradi lever gun you get with it is great

imo the individual callers are better than the e-caller because they lure to your position and deploying them makes no noise

but the e-caller is more versatile by default because it can call stuff that the others can’t

there is no great one croc. grind them by running along the coast, they are out all day and they don't care about hunting pressure. if you want to set up tents in between spawn points to hop along and lay out tripods you can go even faster.

I’m pretty sure they’re just there to add more life to the map because there ain’t much going on otherwise, but they usually fly away. If they don’t they are probably glitched, just like the regular animals do sometimes

I feel Like my respawns on sundarpatan arent working. I built a Grind Setup for tibetian foxes and Shot the Males Out of groups of them. Since then there are hardly any new Male foxes there basically None. Could be possible that they ALL went to different zones but would be Odd and should Not Happen right?
Oh and my Tiger from my 3 Lake grind is also gone and at None of His Prior spawns.

Set your tents up 250 meters (273 yards) from your tripods so you don't spook the animals around the need zone. Tripod placement is up to you. I generally set my tents 273 yards from a need zone I want to hunt. My tripods are set depending on what weapon I'm going to use. If I'm crossbow hunting, I place within 50 yards since it is a close-range weapon. If I'm using my 7mm for long-range shots I might place my tripod 100 yards out from the need zone.

Hello, I’m repeatedly getting a couple os issues when in multiplayer hosting.

• when my friends are around me and looking at the same animals, whoever shoots gets desynced from the others. Everyone’s like “I’m sure I hit it”, while the others see the animal standing still. Sometimes the hit registers a later on, other times it doesn’t register any hit at all.
  If separate from each other and stay on different parts of the map there are no issues and people get instant feedback from their shots.
• when I get a third player animals become so scarce that you stay hours without seeing one. As soon as the third player logs out, maps full of animals again. And if you suddenly get solo, even more animals..

Anyone else experiencing something similar?

I think your problems are somewhat common on multiplayer, and nobody knows fixes. I've never noticed the map not having animals when a third player joins, I've grabbed trophies off full multiplayer sessions before.

What you’re practically doing is herd management on a lower level but just see it as shooting big animals and leaving little ones will cause the game to spawn big animals.

For tigers, their needzones are for a single animal. You shoot the one animal, the zone disappears but don't worry, you can rediscover it when the new tiger spawns

This also happens with other zones if you shoot too many of a single group, at least as far as I've been told. Eventually the zone disappears but when the animals respawn, you'll be able to "rediscover" the zone again.

Personally I've used the rifle because of the range and caliber range. Only had a pistol if I was on a map with agressive animals like wolves or bison.
As for the shotgun, it only decreases the value of the trophy if you hit the trophy organ, usually the skull. The individual pellets aren't counted towards animal hits, it's the actual bullet/cartridge used.

Bow n arrow is nice for stealthy take downs as it creates less hunting pressure and if done right, you could basically take down an entire herd before they notice you're there. But it has a lot shorter range than rifles and guns

Silver Ridge is one of my favorites. I haven't played Te Awaroa very much even though I own it. It's similar to SRP in the way they both have layouts that make grinding easy if that's what you like to do.

i finally found a level 9 croc, and i killed it successfully. it seems no similar croc has spawned to replace it. ive walked the shore twice now, and only new lvl 1 females have spawned. is it only a chance for something similar to spawn?

You need to find a higher scoring bear. Only maximum level animals are expected to make diamond. Occasionally one level lower can make it, but not with bears. Look for a Level 9 - Legendary bear for your diamond.

yes, one of the harvest checks is hitting a vital organ like lungs, heart, or liver. You also need to use the correct ammunition for the animal class, shoot it only once or twice, and avoid shooting the trophy organ (skull on bears).

So I just saw an old post about being able to stack need zones and I was wondering if that was worth it and if so how to do it?

In my opinion the .223 docent is a good non DLC gun and does it's job. Make sure to use the Polymer tip bullets for that extra penetration (aka ability to clip multiple organs). You'll only be able to shoot class 2-4 with it without ruining trophies, so keep an eye on that.

If you don't have gun dlc's but extra maps, some maps do reward you with guns.

Yes, Polymer tips have higher penetration, the soft tips have higher expansion meaning on hit they'll be shallower but bleed more.

Naturally, the closer you manage to get to the animal, the more likely you'll get multiple organ hits as the bullet doesn't have to fly that far. Then again I've had point blank shots where the bullet stopped a hair away from the organs 🤣

Though according to the wiki, the Ranger .243 has better penetration than the .223 docent, yet the Ranger has more wobble and less accuracy. Everyone here has their own guns/bows they stand by so experiment and see which guns you like the most 😄

Then I'd say try and give the Ranger .243 a shot and see if you get better results with that one. Some of the guns just seem like they hit much shallower than expected. The Ranger also covers 2-6 so you have more options to shoot

^True you want to aim a lil bit behind the leg so you can hit the two lungs. Getting a liver shot is also nice but that one can be risky as you miss, you'll get stomach or intestines and that's not vital

That might've been the issue. Give it a shot and then see if you get better results. I know the free ammo is the softpoint bullets which can do the job but like you said often miss an organ and lead you to chase the animal halfway across the map

Does anyone know if difficulty and rating are different on animals? I killed a bear with a heart short (It was a "hard" difficulty one) but I only got silver rating. Later on I killed an ealk that was only "easy" but it gave me gold instead

difficulty is nothing more than how well an animal can detect you and is different per animal yes.
Last time I played, it was this:
1-3 for small game
1-5 for deer
1-9 for predators and red deer

Score rating, is also different per animal and you can see what score you need to get a diamond for example, by hovering over the score in the harvest screen.
Generally, the higher the difficulty, the better the score will be for the animal

Yes, which leaves the Difficulty rating. Bears and all predators have a Difficulty range 1-9. If you're looking to get a Diamond trophy, you want to shoot the 9 - Legendary. Though it is rare that an 8 - Mythical can also be a Diamond.

The bear you shot was a 5- Medium, which is basically an average bear. If you want golds, I think you'll need to aim for 6-8 bears

Weight and trophy rating can influence your trophy result. But as far as I know, yess, it can change from species to species. Like a 3 Malard can be a Diamond while you'd need a 9 Red Deer to get that same Diamond

• Class determines what kind of ammo you need to use. Low classes don't need high caliber ammo just as much as a high class won't be taken down by shooting it with a pellet.
• Difficulty determines how aware the animal is of their surroundings (1 being rather oblivious, 9 being hyper aware). Difficulty ranges from 1- Trivial to 9 - Legendary, with 10 - Fabled being the Great One @frail willow .
• Rating depends on 4 things: Use of correct ammo, shot the animal two times or less, Hit a vital organ and lastly, Not hitting the trophy organ (usually the skull). Rating will look at the animal difficulty and weight before checking these ethical skillchecks and then awards you a trophy.

Do note that not all animals have a Difficulty going from 1-9. Some have 1-3 (think ducks), 1-5 for most deer and then 1-9 for most predators, Red Deer etc.

Great One is a trophy rating of it's own. If you spot an animal with Difficulty 10- Fabled, congratulations, you've encountered a Great One. They'll look different from their regular counterparts and are usually massive.

You'll see this trophy next to the rating

It is provided but not really explained. If you look at your killscreen, it shows the 4 checks they make and the trophy value of your animal. If you miss one of the checks it will turn red and have a diagonal line through it.

As an example, you see here on the lower left on my Harvest check that I missed vitals and thus, lowered the trophy value.

And in your game, if you hover over the trophy rating number, it'll show you the numbers you need in order to hit certain trophy ratings, which changes between animal species.

Note that with different animals, the Difficulty doesn't have to be a 9 in order to achieve Diamond. Small birds will only go from 1-3, not the full range of 1-9

if you are talking about zeroing that skill is activated. You need to go to the perks menu and activate it, then on PC press F to change your zeroing distance. It will be displayed on the hud.
