I'm finding that basically every shot I take, I might get a graze if I'm lucky, even if it what looks like a perfect shot. What am I doing wrong? I have a YT video to show some examples but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post that here

if you arent getting any respawns then you still have some drink zones to discover

sometimes if you only go over their possible spawns once, not every zone will have a herd at them so two rounds is always good

mainly bc they are in a more fixed and less spread out area and they are also more still

and obvi its gonna be near water so your gonna have more open space to see them

well if im hunting one kind of animal, ill set the time to when they start drinking, usually about an hour after the start time to give them time to spawn (depending if the drink time is long enough). then ill go around and do what i need to do, but if its after it then you can either set it to the time when they start again and repeat the whole thing or ya what shufting said you can do that, honestly free spirit ig

one way to tell

is to get out your binos, mark it (or js use the map) then look and see how far away

but i highly discourage taking any shots from furthur than likw 250m or smth

usually 150 is a good distance

zeroing is for easier shots, and not having to aim higher, most guns zero from 75, 150, 300. So if you want to shoot a target from 300+ meters away, its easier to just aim at the spot, than aim higher. if that makes sense

kinda hard to explain but its basically accounting for bullet drop. Say you aim at something 50 meters away then shoot at it, its gonna hit it almost perfectly bc there wasnt much time for the bullet to drop. however, if you were to go 150 meters away and shoot at it, different story bc it would drop a lot more. zeros adjusts your gun so that if you zero to 150, shooting at that thing 150 meters away will hit it like it hit the thing 50 meters away

I’m doing the great one moose grind and I have a diamond potential 4 solo and I have a herd with 2s and females I know if you shoot an animal in 2 zones and leave and join back it has a chance to swap spawns would that still work with it being a solo zone and a herd

From what little I know, place tents at the drinkspots of whatever you're grinding along with a hide. Shoot the males, collect em, go to the next zone. Rinse and repeat till you spawn GO. You might wanna do some herd management though I don't know how that works xD

herd management is shooting your zones down to smaller level animals,which manipulates the respwans,because the game wants to balance out the population,so when the game sees that you have a lot of low levels whitetails for example on the map,it will spawn higher level whitetails way more often

In my tiger hunt one of my home range tigers just disappeared it’s not in any lake or anything in it’s home range how do I fix this

sometimes tigers don't show up, and sometimes your tent can still block the render even after the update. If you're sure it's supposed to be there quit/reload and keep checking, but if there's a chance it's somewhere else and it's not at any nearby lakes either you might have to check the whole map to find it.

shoot the small ones first and stack big ones. This gives you small spawns. Once you collect enough small animals switch to shooting the big ones, then you get a stream of big one. Herd management is manipulating the average animal size to affect the size of future animals, so you want to build up a map full of smalls first

when I shoot 420gr arrows with the Koter CB-65 and the 3-pin sight the center pin is 40m, and the other two are hard to measure because they don't match any of the targets on Parque. I think it's 10m for the top pin and 80m for the bottom pin though. I usually use the 5-pin of course.

Yeah the reason I did testing was because the recurve zeros were was different than the 65kg bow and it caused me to miss a shot on a couple of tigers a week or two ago.

the recurve should be zeroed to 40m for both the 540gr and 700gr arrows. You have to aim a pinch high I guess with the heavier ones, like a bit of red from the target should be visible over the curve of where the broadhead attaches to the shaft

The most of the time, you can run/walk up on 200m without some animals fleeing, after 150 I just would walk, or crouch, up to 80-120m, then I switch between crouching and laying down, always try to see how calm the animal is

You can safe breath when the animal is calm, and you reached your final position to get a good shot

I’ve been trying to grind for a diamond Coyote on Layton and I’m debating about switching maps. Aside from it being very hard to find coyotes in general since there’s so many drink zones the male coyotes I find are normally between levels 2-5 and only rarely do I see a 7.

That leads me to believe there must be some massive ones hiding somewhere but dang it takes forever on this map to find them

Any tips for coyote on Layton are helpful. Curious if there’s some hotspot I’m missing.

Layton sucks when hunting little things specifically! That grass is a pain

But you probably do have a diamond or a couple trolls somewhere for sure!

I know I answered this before so forgive me if I repeat advice that did not work for you. Yes hunting coyotes is hard and Layton is the hardest map for them. I recommend breaking the map down into areas you can cover with 15 tents, placing them at the various water sources, and checking that region for a few days in a row or until you're done shooting. Repeat this until you have covered the map, it will take a while.

and don't expect the big dogs to be out before 2:15, sometimes later

Yeah I’ve noticed that they can be very late to arrive at their drink zone and right now I’m very low on money due to tents at other reserves so I can’t exactly afford that many tents at the moment. I may try to consolidate what I have though and try that tent hopping strategy.

you might need to grind out some crocs, banteng, tigers, or bears to prepare yourself. having a full spread of tents available makes every hunt easier. Layton is one of the worst paying reserves in general.

individual callers weigh 0.5, the ecaller weighs 3.5. They also work differently. The ecaller has to be placed and attracts animals to the caller while playing automatically; the hand callers have to activated manually and attract the animal to the location of the user.

both expansion and penetration change, and the increased penetration is the main draw of polymer tipped bullets. there are some types of hunting where people prefer soft points, but the majority of the time the additional penetration ends up being better in the game. More penetration means it's more likely the off angle shots make it through the additional flesh and bone to hit a vital.

they've changed the layout of animals on the map a few times I think, and some concepts in the game have changed a lot since the first maps and missions were created. this means they've had to re-work the missions and with all those changes they can't work as smoothly. it feels like half the missions or more need a gimmick solution or a ton of caller work, as if they had a certain idea for how the game would play but now seven years later it didn't end up like that.

Well I mean technically yes you need to find all your zones, but you can start grinding and if respawns slow down they have gone elsewhere so you have to locate them

run your map, find whatever zones you can and start shooting and then run your map some more based on your findings
