I’d do the 4 lake method on srp, so many vids on it. If you have questions someone who’s done it will be happy to help you. Hm is up to you, bears are predators which means solo zones, they’ll move each time you kill them. And since there solo zones having all your zones isn’t the biggest deal.

you're underwater in lake prospect. normally it shows a dynamic view of the reserve on this screen, but it placed you in a weird spot that made you fall into the lake and show your huntermate and a weird view that it wouldn't normally because the camera is probably limited where it can go when you are in a spot you are not supposed to be in.

Usually people use a .300 or .338 for Moose and Bear and one of the many class 4-8 guns for Whitetail. For casual bear most of the 4-8 guns are okay but if you are shooting a lot use a magnum. It also depends what you have access to.

Planning on starting a new game after finishing my fallow grind

I have recently started playing and will walk around the map as quiet as possible listening for anything and following tracks of animals. It takes 20-30 minutes to find an animal. What tips do people have to find more animals

thats what i did when i first got the game thinking it was all about stealth

but when i just started running around and finding actual things i started seeing more animals

and if you go to water any time of the day you will probably find something

Go to where you know the animals will already be instead of tailing them around. Look up their drink time and go to the water in the second half of that time range. You can hunt other need zones the same way, but drink zones are easiest without scouting ahead of time.

It's a bit of an open-ended game where you should do what you like. In order to make character progress with skills, perks, gold, and locks you need to harvest animals. Shoot and collect whatever you can at first. Depending if you have any DLC you may be limited to class 2-6 right now, so look for some deer and practice your skills of a hunter. Getting outposts or "house things" is good. There are also lookout towers that reveal nearby points of interest on the map.

• don't run around crazy
• if you see an animal, it probably can see/hear/smell you - so crouch and move slowly
• hold your breath when shooting
• aim for around the armpit of animals, but a little higher to hit the lungs
• do the missions, explore the map and unlock camps and outlooks to open the map and get xp/cash

Also:
DO NOT try grinding for crazy trophies right off the bat

learn the game and enjoy it before turning it into "work"

How far should a stand / blind spook animals? It's been a while since I've played and had them spooking 180m+ when placing a blind didn't feel quite right 🤔 It used to be 130m. Guess it has been changed since.

Tested it a bit more. 190m still spook animals. That's ridiculous to be honest. How are we supposed to use callers and bow hunt if stands spook animals as far the caller can be used?

This is one of the hardest quests in the game, take a break and learn archery before trying it on a fox. You are trying to run before you know how to walk. I have never used the zeroing perk, but it should indicate in the bottom right of the HUD if it is on and which range. I think you switch it by pressing F in the skills page of the menu while the skill is selected.

The best way to start is shooting deer with the Ranger 243 until you have rifle score for the 270. You can do this without restarting your save. Don't use the Docent 223 on deer imo, that's only for coyotes, fox, etc.

Kind of depends on the animal tbh, but it can reliably get you within 50m if you’re slow crawling, after that I think it’s more a question of making noise or being detected by smell

rinse and repeat, you'll get trolled for the first couple hundred or so kills with low to high 240s but eventually you'll get diamonds

Does anyone know How rare are female gold animals in comparison to male golds, it took me a while to get my one gold female fox but i got a load of gold males, my friend thought gold females werent even possible and online some people were saying they only spot one 1 time a year or so

i got my precious gold female fox but now i want more gold female animals and am curious as to how much of a challenge that would be

It depends on the species. On most species females don't usually make gold, but there are several exceptions. Red fox is one of these, but finding big ones is quite a bit rarer than males. I think they can even make diamond but I've never seen one. For all species of hare females are the big ones that make diamond instead of the males. Gemsbok have male and female diamonds, and Chamois I think too. Plains bison females can make gold but not diamond, and quite a few of the ducks are also like that.

Thanks, pretty helpful info, and what are your thoughts on the rarity level between the female and male for foxes, like would a gold female be about the same as a diamond male or a bit more or less rare, just wondering since i spent a good while primarily hunting female foxes and only taking shots at the males if they were for sure gold or the only option so i dont know a lot about them

My only diamonds are a red deer and 2 turkeys i randomly shot just because i saw them

I don't know exactly, but my sense is that a gold female is slightly more common than a diamond male. This is based off seeing a few L6 females and never seeing an L9 male, but I have not spent much time hunting foxes.

So my bad news is they're basically evenly everywhere the desert plateau in the Southwest and along the rivers and coast is imo best spots to look for the in the morning and evenins

My tactic is run around and check tracks if I find them and if I find a max weight find its zone and put a tent down and return when they're at the zone (when the zone tracks are there) walk 200m away the fast travel back and kill the max or as many as possible

That's how I've got my albino and diamond

Fallow keep small 3s and 2s
Whitetail keep 1s and maybe a really small 2
Bears keep 4s? Maybe 5s and under
Moose are basically same as fallow , 2s and small 3s
Red deer 5s and under

Just find all of your zones and if you think you have them all try grinding
