Magpie just hunt whatever you want near the marshes and coast and any time you hear the geese flying overhead spot all of them, but from my experience the males make up the front of the V. If you see a level 4 with a weight that goes up to 7 or a level 5 you can either try to shoot it then (any 22, preferably the one with 10 shots though) or set up for it. Carry your magpie call with you. The flight path should be similar every day if you miss your chance

Emerald coast, go to the east coast. Start at the lodge towards the south end just north of the marsh. Run up the coast shooting crocs until you hit the northern river. Run back down and collect the crocs that will have floated back to shore by then. About $1000 per croc

why, does trophy range show 540 on a legendary kangaroo and then that same kangaroo end up being 10 under diamond, I don't understand the trophy ranges. they go way above the diamond and then don't end up being a diamond

its a range of what it can be, so if it says 430 - 500, then the animal is anywhere from 430 to 500.99. 430 is just as likely as 460 or 490 or 500. It can be anything in that range.

If it were multiplayer the animal would belong to the host

there is a DLC bundle called "the essentials" and its name is pretty accurate, it will be discounted if you already own anything in it like the ATV pack (on steam at least). Although, somethings like the lodge and tents are only really important once you actually get into the game. so maybe only get it if youre pretty sure you like the game.

I messed up the Bandhari quest on Hirschfelden where you have to harvest the wounded bison at night by the cave. The dang thing jumped me as i got off my quad bike and took off. Haven't seen it since. Can the quest reset?

Hi, i updated the game today and wanted to play but when i loaded there was no "continue" button only "new game" wich is weird because i have like 100 hours in this and it never happend. I have my account files backed up but idk what to do with them, when i pressed new game and created a charact i had as expected 0 money but it didnt create a new id or anything in the folders. So I started playing playing Call of the Wild a while ago and thought I understood classes... Until I met the european bisons in Hirschfelden. It says they are class 9, but when I shoot at them with ammunition designated for class 9 it says wrong ammunition under the trophy score.

I tried the Sundberg 454 pistol with .454 Jacketed Hollow-Point ammunition and I tried the Grelck Drilling Rifle with 9.3x74R Polymer-Tip ammunition. Both say ingame aswell as in the wiki that they are for up to class 9. And yet I fail the harvest check.

Does layton have a weird sound bug currently? Every now and then I get a loud noise that sounds like it's coming from under me, but it sounds like a gator hissing/growling. Usually noticed it when near deer, but sometimes i get it without noticing anything around, and I don't get an audio cue, either. It's the same for every map. Hunt the drinking time for the animal u want a diamond. ( the reason u hunt the drinking zones, u can see and spot animals a lot further than trying to do it in the woods)
First, know your animal scores. That way when you see a diamond, you will know to take extra time.
Second shoot males only. Females are great for money but don't help in getting a diamond.
Third put in the time hunt the time for drinking and then reset the time and repeat.

Does anyone know if line of sight plays a part in animals being able to spot you? For example: Ignoring smell and hearing, if I were standing in a completely open field, but there was a row of very thick foliage between me and the animal, would it be more difficult for the animal to spot me even though I'm standing in a completely open area? I know there are several times where the foliage is so thick that I'm unable to spot what I'm hunting, so I'm hoping that the reverse is true even if I'm not hiding in a bush

if you're visibility meter is a solid white line or a small gray line no matter where you're standing an animal will have a difficult time spotting you, Grey line is the best and they usually have to get 20m or less away from you to notice you. I've had females literally nearly walk on top of me with a Grey line before noticing I was there

I have a max weight red deer and the estimate wasn't higher than the max weight at all. it was 210 to 240kg. but I've also seen trophy estimate go 90 points over the diamond range and they dont even make diamond. like 2 of those so far. had a Gemsbok with an estimate 60 points over diamond and was a gold

elk is same as anything else with lungs, try a broadside shot whenever you can, a bit behind the front leg center mass hits lungs

elk are class 8 so it's possible you're aiming correctly but angle is bad for penetration and the bullet doesn't hit the vital. class 8s are tanky

thats why you try for broadside as much as you can because it's much easier to penetrate enough to lungs and potentially double lung

Looking for some help with the "war on pests" mission. As you can see in the screenshot, i've gotten 8/10 Axis with any rifle, but ever since i got that number it hasn't gone up. I've shot at least 2 dozen Axis since getting to 8, am i missing a requirement?

if your spawns are getting worse check other drink zones, you probably haven't found every drink zone and you might have some large bois hiding, for example I've been shooting only level 6, 7, 8s red deer and yet my level 3 and 4 population is exploding. I found a 2 mythicals and 4 level 7s hiding out at a lake I hadn't checked yet for drink zones

what class 1 animal have you had survive? not a single class one animal that I've shot with soft point has lived. not even red fox or Bob cats survive soft points with vitals. class 1 die with flesh wounds, every time.

never had a single class 1 animal live a single soft point shot. but I have noticed that the higher difficulty animals seem tankier than a lower difficulty animal of the same species, a level 8 red deer with a flesh shot doesn't usually die with my .303 but a level 5, 6, and sometimes 7 will die to bleeding from a flesh shot. goose go to 5 so it's possible the 4 and 5s can survive but I've never had a 2, or 3 difficulty animal live through a .22 soft point.

it's usually the longer shots that fail to kill, further distance to travel, less penetration, less damage to animal. so if you're taking max range or beyond max range, your bullets aren't doing as much damage as closer shots

well, distance definitely wasn't the issue when i started out with the .22LR pistol for example, i always had to hit them 2-3 times each otherwise they'd just fly off as if nothing happened

the .22H wasn't as bad with the softpoint but yea, still way worse than expected

I use .303 soft points for everything class 4 to 6, and drops them pretty quick. Has enough penetration to still hit a vital, even from an angle. Even if you're only hitting a single vital, the massive expansion damage adds up. Plus with 53 expansion, if you DO get a bad shot, missing vitals or at a weird angle, you can still usually rely on bleed damage to finish it off. I even use it on class 7 animals, usually black bears, with good results. Once you get to moose, though, it's no good. It completely demolished class 4/5/6 though, with a really good balance of pen/exp.

yeah I'm not sure what game that person is playing, my experience with soft points has been vastly different on class 1, and the bullets I'm using are only 10 expansion and 5 pen, not one class 1 animal had escaped death lol

I use the .22 defender pistol and I don't really hunt for class 1 that much, so I just keep that little thing just in case. Whether I'm using the hollow points or truncated ammo, if a turkey or rabbit runs past me and I pop them, they've always just dropped like a rock from one hit. But they were also all close.
