No clue what Windows does if you install stuff to OneDrive. I'd think that it doesn't really matter for the save games. You probably deinstalled everything beforehand? Did you use Steam Cloud and messed up a dialog window with "which save will you keep, drive or online"?

hey, might be a stupid question from one with 170 hours in, but will fast travelling to tents spook animals in the vicinity?
thinking about trying out hunting stands for a while but getting there from the default camps takes forever and usually get's interrupted by me spotting pray left and right before even getting there 😅

If they are within range of the targets spook radius, I believe so. Also placing tents

If you fast travel to a tent animals do not render in within around 200 to 225 m if the animals are already rendered in they will spook to around the same distance

Running don't spook most animals till 150ish meters unless it's a high lvl

Once you get closer to your stand you could always slow down and walk the rest of the way

Cuz even if you spook animals off of their zones they typically come back with it a few minutes

Also if you have the skills that lower the sound that you make for running it helps tremendously

i actually am mostly into the stalker tree since that's what i did most of the time but the skills usually have so little effect that it's hard to notice any actual difference

especially the noise reduction one, going how i sometimes get warning thumps from rabbits that are over 200m away when just walking normally, not even running, might be just a rabbit thing tho 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone found that after having a really good hunting session there is a lack of animals? The Friday, Saturday, and Sunday over Easter weekend I got a few mystical, a piepald, an albino, and a legendary Red Deer! All on Te Awaroa, it was a great weekend for me hunting Red Deer! But over the last few days it seems like they've all gone into hiding! Even when I change the times and jump from one need zone to the next there is barely any deer about!

try exiting to main menu and going back in. shooting animals doesnt instantly respawn them somewhere else, but main menu-ing does

maybe you have some undiscovered zones? there are some tricky little spots they can appear in. ping me with a screenshot/picture of your map with the lakes you have zones at and ill point out spots that could have your deer.

To save ur current load out u press square on ps or x on console (not sure about pc so I can’t help u there probably a lower button like x or z if I were to guess. I've looked at other maps shared online and although I've found some of the areas match mine, the majority don't so I'm having to hunt out areas for myself. If they are going in a certain direction, go that way even if the tracks say otherwise. If the tracks stop, then they probably did an illegal u-turn and turned back

Alright. When an animal calls and you track it, will the tracks on the ground change to that animal? If so, I did "find" the animal again quite a ways out about perpendicular to the overlapping trails

keep driving it away instead of letting it relax, at least that's what helped me prevent a lot of those scenarios

the back and forth usually happens when they relax and decide to go back to where they came from, totally forgetting about the threat that's present there

WP2 gives you the drilling rifle, a hybrid shotgun/rifle

Hirsch and Parque are the maps that have given me the most trouble so far. I stg I cause an atomic bomb to go off just by bending a blade of grass on Hirsch, and the animals all have superpowers on Parque

well, bodies usually won't vanish if left lying around and i never saw animals being bothered by corpses even if from the very same species

I was mostly wondering because idk if me running around to pick up trophies is going to scare off the animals and prevent them from returning to the need zone (that are probably gone anyway considering I just shot something lol). I have no idea how to properly grind this game so I'm starting by just camping water

I'm not sure when its okay to kill does/cows/non trophy animals either. Idk how the spawning and respawning system works, so any tips on that would be great also!

shot females will always respawn as females so afaik shooting them has 0 effect on the grinding other than scaring everything with the shots as usual

na, they respawn as males as well

basically genders stay, the only thing that will change is their difficulty/trophy rating, so if you want to grind for big trophy bucks you usually want to keep all the low ranking ones (1-4, while shooting everything 5-9 for species that go up to 9, or keeping 1-2 and shooting 3-5 for those that end at 5)

just harvest it, leave the server, open your own and use the trophy manager as it should be the last recorded harvest it should be saved even if your actual saved harvests might be full already

If you got booted from the server, unfortunately when you go to claim the kill it wont register to you, you wont get the money
