Didn't know that was the other name for them. Huh. The more you know.
Ello honse
some actual urchin threw a rock at a hawaiian monk seal
hai
I know where he lives actually
The dude got beat and fined
yeah and he mysteriously got whooped
I don't usually condone violence but that was needed
is the scotland map the best roe deer map?
everyone who witnessed the broad daylight beatdown said they aint seen nothing lmfao
and then one of Hawaii's senetaros wrote the anonymous vigilante a letter of commendation
He said he didn’t care cause he was rich and he vacationed to Hawaii all the time
and I kid you not
he opened the pitch
with
and I quote
"We do not condones violence"
but
i think he started to care around the time that right cross hit him in the teeth
Money dosent save you from a beating
he then gave the title "Ambassador of Aloha" to the vigilante btw
based
10,000% based
he has discovered that now lmfao
Hopefully learned his lesson
Also torr is pretty good for roe deer but most would say cuatro colinas is best for roe deer
ominous
I'm personally team Torr. But I'm just heavily biased against Cuatro Colinas.
he prolly didnt
First five minutes on the map...attacked by wolves. 😭
oh his trucking companies were review bombed and he was doxxed too 😭
The plot thickens
I find that part enjoyable about cuatro
As ugly as the wolves are cuatro is still one of my favorite maps
honestly I hope he goes back to Washington State and tries that on a bull stellar's sea lion
there wont be enough left of him to bury in a shoebox 💀
Let him go against a moose
A full grown bull
decal'd onto the ground
Fair enough. I will say...the story of that map was wonderful.
Right??? Cuatro had some really fun missions
like the one Tom & Jerry episode where Jerry bulldozed Tom with a steamroller
or that one yellowjacket that got flattened by a 2.8 million pound freight train
also his trial is on Wednesday
I hope they throw the book at him lmao
Wait what...there was actually something left to know there was a yellow jacket??
yes, the distinct shape and outline of the yellowjacket stenciled onto the rail itself
That is fascinating yet horrifying. Yet little sympathy because yellow jackets are mean little buggers.
What a way to go
Even for a yellow jacket
i can at least give them the benefit of they tend not to F with you if they dont think youre trying to destroy their house
horseflies however
evil
ticks?
pure evil
Not around here. During the summer? They get real grumpy. General wasps? Chill. But yellow jackets or another hornet? Nope. No thank you.
in my area of Colorado they seem to not care about people too much
There a way to check what fur types are rare?
then again i dont give em much of a chance
I have the app and check if the animals looks special.
Yeah. Kansas summer hornets are something else. 😅 That's when you get the hairspray.
i got that turbo evil wasp spray
i had to hit 4 nests in one day
whats the apps name?
See, we use hairspray since we always have some. And it freezes the wings so they can fly. They drop to where you can get rid of them easier.
Like my grandpa taught me...there's two types of flying machines. Ones that run on petroleum. And ones that don't. 😂
There's two different ones. COTWCompanion and COTW Guide.
I personally like the companion one better. But that's my personal opinion.
Im glad the worst thing i gotta deal with are mosquitoes and honey bees
is it just for identifing the animal/stats for like diamonds or is it got tips/guides for farming too?
Aw man. You don't have chiggers? Lucky...
More like fur colors, drink/feed/rest times, diamond numbers, etc.
horseflies and deerflies are evil
Deer ticks..
So much long grass any second in there you get on your legs if you dont have long pants
they go for the highest bloodlow regions that are most accessible so they tend to bite you on the hands, armpit, behind the ears, and on parts of the face
Red spotted sika deer. took the 2 males over her
this is why when I got hunting ima wear thermals and tuck them into the socks then tuck my pants into my boots
Been lucky with ticks thankfully. But there brethren the chigger...those are brutal. 😭
32" inseam best inseam
unfortunate ass name for that tiny little red mite thingy
It is. I think they're also called berry bugs?
I don't know. I was raised with the other name and they are evil. They always get in the worst places.
ive gathered the bites between toes and fingers are the worst
also random fact: they seem like they magnetize to you because they literally do
Try...upper areas.
especially the nymphs take advantage of native magnetic disturbances and fields by living animals to yank themselves away from a stem of grass towards their target
parasitic nematodes use the same method on fish in water
We'd wear shorts in the summer and sit in the grass and what not, not thinking of what could happen.
inside the ears/by the tear ducts
oh agony
i got what youre putting down
pain
Especially since my family treats the grass every year for ticks and what not.
twas trolled by the game. was just a shade to light to be red spotted :L
Oh yeah. Barrel of monkeys.
yknow it occurs to me that losses of bird biodiveristy (especially upland fowl like prairie hens) due to land clearing etc is likely a big reason why tick numbers are so high nationally
Makes sense. Don't mosquitoes do that as well?
our native groundbirds and to an extent songbirds thatd snatch em up by the tens of thousands are kinda
not doing too hot
states that have more of em tend to do better as well it seems
we need moar grouses
sorta, they mainly use it to stabilize on body hair and stay attached while feeding
ticks and mosquitos could go extinct, and the world would be just fine
even leaches have a use
the ones that target us actually can sense our specific CO2 volume and ratio from like 20 feet away
Unfortunately, it would not. They're are big part of the ecosystem.
Welcome to they're a delightful meal to a lot of animals.
mosquitos do too, with the exception of the 4 or 5 species that target people mosquitos are important pollinators and their larve serve a mixed role as food and small predators
the only role in the ecosystem they fill is to be a food source for others. There are other insects that will fill that role just fine
Just we tend not to appreciate becoming said meal for the mosquitoes.
I mean for ticks generally but not mosquitos
and even then
the ticks and mossies arent the issue
its the pissant diseases and parasites that evolved to use them as vectors
id have no issue with ticks existing if lyme, alpha gal, and so on werent a thing
Kinda like rodents and birds.
but i have no issue with ticks disappearing when it gets rid of all those things too
Good in general but the diseases are brutal.
yeah but rodents and birds do also just objectively have 1000x more ecological impact that the walking incarnation of gluttony
I'd much rather get leaches than ticks on me
ticks are actually the only lifeform i irrationally dislike to the point of near hatred
Fair enough.
I've had both on me before
close behind them is deerflies but thats a personal beef
i'm glad I didn't get lyme from the ticks
They do make good entertainment though. Plump ticks. 😂
leaches were just a bit eew and that's about all
i know crows love them
ive seen them swarm deer and livestock to pluck them off
See...blowing them up with fire after you get them off whatever...
but tbh the main reason ticks are such an issue is the complete lack of controlled burns in many areas
if i start hunting normally again this fall, I'm going to have to buy some new clothing to prevent ticks
usually they wouldnt have a very high population at all
because tons of nymphs would die in late winter/early spring fires
and adults/old nymphs in midsummer fires
and a third/fourth time depending on the grass species by November
same for pine beetles
but we adopted the idea of never let anything burn
and now we're here
So that's why Kansas doesn't have too many ticks compared to other places...we have a ton of controlled burns.
yes, and to an extent this is also true for colorado
speaking of beetles.. if those hercules beetles actually lived longer, cool pet
Or sadly, grassfires due to the wind and people being people.
but we also have hordes of crows, pheasants, prair chickens, ptarmigan, three quail species, and like 4 or 5 grouses
we have pheasants and quail here
real
I'd be more likely to take up pheasant hunting than I would waterfowl
yeah, although the prairie is supposed to burn semi often
problem is when it also burns down entire towns
see: nebraska recently
that's how California is supposed to be.. wildfires were a seasonal thing before the logging industry, controlled burns, and forest management got rid of them
now as the state further restricts those things, they come back.. and people built houses where they used to be
Which I get. I honestly love burning seasoning. Watching all the gross burn away and leaving rich soil behind. Few days later...so much bright green. Awful on allergies though.
yup
and this is why ticks were formerly not a problem
the app show max weight or min weight for diamond?
95% of the hibernating nymphs would get incinerated when the leaf and grass litter they hid in burned
and what wasnt burned was formerly bulldozed and disturbed my large herbivores, leaving many of the remaining ones to freeze to death in winters
if bison were rewilded to the prairie and natural fire regimes allowed to persist plus native bird species given good attention theyd be a non-issue
Max weight. And minimum trophy score for diamonds.
If we released ticks with the genetic modification making their offspring infertile, we wouldn't have to do as many burns which also harm other insect life. Including fireflies
oh well dont have trophy spot unlocked but got a max weight sika so wish me luck
i do wish there were larger efforts to rewild some of our states with bison, elk, etc, based on what their original habitat range used to be
Replace coyotes with literally anything else, everywhere
Problem is that most of those original habitats have been destroyed.
it is also important to note that fireflies have a complex relationship with burns because they often depend on native plants that need a frequent burn cycle and are being outcompeted by invasives that take advantage of dilapidated fire regimes
not where I am, and elk used to be native here.. still plenty of wildlife for them, they're just gone
well, thats partly why bison and elk are such solid choices if its ever actually done
same for moose in the places theyre absent
they dont follow trails
they make them
But their larvae live within leaflitter, and get burned away if Burns are done often
in fact, bison were a key part of growth control in central-eastern woodlands along with elk and moose
which is why I said complex
adults need recently burned recovering environments to do the best
Welp. The Kansas state mammal is the bison. But we have very few left due to the mass hunting when we were still Native American territory.
i don't know if moose historically ranged where I am now
but the larvae get sent to the shadow realm
which state you in?
or-
western half of NY state
yes
they used to go as far south as central Virginia in colder years
and formerly had thin populations in the White Mountains in Arizona
I want to see a moose
yeah, seems alces alces americana used to cover the whole northern appalacheans
michigan, wisconsin, illinois, ohio, pennsylvania, new jersey, massachusetts, delaware, maryland, rhode island, west verginia
they were the proxy for bison in the woodlands that they refused to inhabit due to insufficient clearings
since American Bison love two things
well
3 technically
Honestly same. I've heard they're huge, but I feel like Moose are one of those animals that you don't realize how big they are until you see one.
long grass prairie, shortgrass prairie, and mosaic wooded grasslands/grassy woodlands (there is a difference)
i seen a video once of a moose traveling with a herd of cattle.. made all the cattle look like subadults or juveniles
here in CO we have the smallest subspecies of moose on earth
the cows are rarely shorter than 5'10" at the shoulder
Goodness!
bulls are usually in the 6'3" to 6'6" range
ah yeah that shiras' bull in the Dakotas
I've been around plenty of cattle (gotta love being in cattle country). Goodness!
mind you, Alaska-Yukon bulls can be about 16 inches taller than that guy right there
yeah, they're impressively large for a deer species
Like I said though...I feel like it'll still hit different to see one not in a picture. Like I've had a bullshark swim over my head. That changed how I saw sharks.
the giga deer
one of those would supply my red meat usage for 2 years
it will
as someone who has seen them in person
pictures dont do justice
I'm sure they don't.
Just I know it's too warm here to ever see them in like a zoo or something.
youre in Kansas right?
Yep
dont count them out
theres known eastward movement along the Platte River and multiple adults including a cow with twin calves have been spotted in central NB and near the NB/KS border in the last 8 years
they formerly were on that part of the prairie as well, were seed dispersers for willows in the riverbottom contry
Ah. See...I'm closer to the Oklahoma border.
that might be a tad far south for them, even historically
were elk all of the place down there back in the day tho
That doesn't shock me. We also had more pronghorns too.
rangeland fencing and the random cropup outside of municipality housing developments murdered their mobility
I know we're starting to get black bears back though. And rumors of pumas.
And sadly...wild hogs.
Nasty creatures.
which wouldve been a near-nonissue if it werent for the extermination of wolves
and mountain lions
and bears
and elk
and moose
and bison
you ever notice how theyre a huge problem every where these things arent
I was gonna say...Kansas doesn't really have a big predator population. The main ones I've seen are bobcats and coyotes.
i showed a friend of mine from Bahrain what it looks like outside my town.. she was like 😮 green!
which are definitively not large and aggressive enough to tackle or pressure hogs
meanwhile wild pigs in Brazil kinda end up being a nonissue
jaguars love em
like
to the point they almost entirely drop every other prey species
and surplus kill and gorge on pigs
I know. 😂 I'm not as educated as you but I genuinely enjoy learning about this stuff.
the thing i like about wild pigs though is they pretty much let you shoot as many as you want, whenever you want
pigs can bully around whitetail, especially in the south, cause theyre heavier
Would have gone into the field except for the threat of future dissections.
now if the resident large herbivores were still present
itd be the pigs getting bullied
cause a 250lb boar is a pretty big boar
but hes getting bulldozed by an elk 5 times his weight
let along a bison 12 times his weight
Exactly
Yeah. But they're smart. And fast. And mean.
europe's boar population is and has been problematic because of the loss of moose and wisent
which not only competed with them but
well
not really a polite way to put this
put them in their place curbstomp style
Hey. Nature isn't exactly known for being gentle.
cause if there's too many oink-based lifeforms and they start muscling or even attacking the wisent calf
suddenly 180 1,200lb animals
are very very mad
and ducking into brambles to get away doesnt work when your pursuer can bulldoze the entire shrubline at a gallop
So can we say...pulled pork?
nature is a symphony of deals, trickery, and ass-beatings with songs and beauty in the background
Never heard it like that. But completely true.
reminds me of the time a lioness was showing a cub how to kill a giraffe.. the giraffe stomped her to death with little effort
as a random tangent
Max the Meat Guy, if youve heard of him
enrages me at a cellular level
Nope. Never heard of him.
specifically with how he cooks exotic and game animal meats
everything that should not in any way be cooked like beef or pork, especially not like a chop or a steak; he cooks like a beef steak or pork chop
and when its one of the few things he should?
cooks it literally any other goddamn way
he also makes literally everything medium/medium-rare/rare
im shocked he hasnt gotten roundworm
Oh gosh...
he also seems noseblind to rotting meat which makes me highly question his culinary career
"man this elk (or really any other game meat) kinda smells fishy; oh well, ima cook it anyways"
I mean, I understand a lot more game style meats are being farmed, like deer or Ostrich. But true wild game? That is indeed dangerous.
NEWSFLASH
IF ANY MEAT
ESPECIALLY RED MEAT
SMELLS FISHY
IT IS BATHING IN AMMONIA
BECAUSE IT IS ACTIVELY ROTTING
he made a video cooking ribeye from a bunch of exotic animals
You're talking to an actual culinary instructor. 😂 And smell is the biggest indicator if something is wrong.
idk if the elk was shot or farmed
doesnt matter tbh
it was brown
yknow how elk is supposed to be like violently red
Eh. The brown part is oxidation. That's not the biggest worry.
the silver skin was separating and the fat was peeling off because it was starting to supify
Should be.
Okay see. That's not normal. I can agree with that.
That is disgusting.
yeahhhh
oh and also he had coyote (he cooked it medium because he doesnt like life ig)
he made a wellington
started by a long cold smoke
his idea?
reduce the gameyness
and he
made a meat dish
I shot him from so far
that flavorbombs the chosen cut
If it was just a little brown, depending on the shade, it's not as big of deal as it can be caused by oxidation, bruising, stress....etc. May not taste as good. But technically safe.
i can grab a pic right now
one sec
Oh gosh...
oh and he cooked half of it dry aged in maple syrup and bourbon
for 7 days
so that fs grew mold
the pellicle was black
he didnt cut it off before plating and eating it
I wanna die
You know it's bad when even the bourbon can't save it.
the peeling
Yeah. That...you can almost smell it through the picture.
you can basically see the decomp line in the crosscut
So glad it's two in the morning and I don't wanna eat.
Yeah. I can see it. And it looks like it wasn't bled completely...which speeds up the decomp.
Omg I just came back into the convo and I already know who and what this is just by the image 🤦♂️
The medium-rare control dont look half bad but this is closer to blue than medium with how red that is
also, you can see the sponginess coming out from the muscle fiber bundles coming apart
we're in cooked food territory now hence lack of spoiler
so you also have experienced this pain
yup
if you dont mind showing me what exactly your event thing says? cuz i just got a gold and doesnt seem to have changed the text
I watched most of his videos thinking id find some great recipes and realize how he dosent know how to cook anything that isnt a cow.
I was gonna say. The meat "grain" is all wonky.
I apologize but currently, I'm not at my computer. Or else I would.
and given the dumb stuff he has done not just with wagyu but also bog standard angus and similar he barely even knows how to cook beef
all good
I was trying to be nice😭
I am not, but I commend your efforts
For someone who calls himself the meat guy he really dont know how to work with meat
Oh gosh. See...Kansas is cattle country. Beef should be respected.
yeah; and heres the worst thing right
theres a deeper explanation to this
so you having culinary training means you can see that the texture and grain
are wack as hell
Yep
and this means, the meat has gone bad or is starting to
but there's layers to this onion
because beyond your culinary training is my decomposition knowledge
and that kind of spongey grain means that the fatia that holds together myofibrils at a microscopic level
has fallen apart
so the muscle fibers have no grain anymore
its just an internally disassembled lumb of rotting flesh
also he did the maple-bourbon soak for 5 or 6 days, i think uncovered
so uh
can we say mold
What's funny his fans have told him how to properly cook things and he either ignores it completely and does the opposite or does it wrong despite the instructions
It basically means that if you were to take a bite, it'd literally just fall apart in your mouth. And not in a good way.
its gotta be engagement bait
in the squishy rotting fruit way specifically
Basically
Wasting perfectly good food for a couple views cannot be that worth it
would also have tons of acids built up internally and be heavily gamey (to an overpowering extent even for folks who like gaminess), sour, and bitter
given the millions of views he pulls YT prolly gives him a fat check for those videos
Surprisingly.
See. That's why aging exists. Ironically, aging is basically controlled rot.
basically, how to rot something without destroying it or turning it into poison
basically, send the ribeye to limbo
oh-
oh no
Does it get worse?
after 5 days in the maple-bourbon soak
I'm back! What did I miss?
Also most of that meat he gets is likely rotten to begin with 😭
three grown adults recoiling in horror as to the crimes of Max the Meat Guy
scroll up for elaboration
But it's kept at certain temperatures. Constantly monitored. Because rot does make meat more tender due to the destruction of some of those cells. But also, salt helps keep a lot of bacteria away. At least harmful bacteria.
Damn! Looks beautiful
but this is a actively rotting rack of improperly stored elk ribeye
It's turned black. 😭
This hurts me on so many levels.
the shine of the syrup is doing it too many favors; a maple-bourbon soak on red meat like elk in this case should be a ruddy maroon
the pellicle is black, which means this is uhh
actively rotting
he also left it uncovered in the fridge for 5 days so pick your favorite species of foodborne mold
Surprisingly he hasnt gotten some type of disease
At least it was in the fridge. But I wonder how cold his fridge was.
after the rare raccoon and medium coyote i was expecting a channel announcement of hospitalization for trichinella
prolly not cold enough
MEDIUM COYOTE?
something like this should be in the 34 to 38 degree range
I'd wet rub hides the tang
IS HE HIGH?
for a wellington
after cold smoking
so he took a heavily gamey and pungent animal
and tripled down
in this case it made it worse by giving the bacteria more sugar as food 😭
Actually...enough sugar does work as preservation.
This is frying my brain
Unless you got an iron stomach.
he never said anything about keeping it at this temp for longer than 15 minutes so now im concerned
ah yes
borderline blue rare elk
this bastard is still bugling
Like you said either he's a complete idiot or its engagement bait
ALSO WHAT IS THAT PELLICLE
This is giving me flashbacks to when Cooking with Jack made a bison burger. And it was blue rare.
ITS LIKE BOILED SHOE LEATHER
Lovely. For added weight loss keeps parasites locked in
HE DIDNT CUT OFF THE PELLICLE
HE LEFT IT ON
That elk still munching on grass
new ozempic competitor: the humble tapeworm
lord
the sponginess
you can tell it rotted more in those 5 days in the syrup
Its hurting me so much
theres no grain left
Pretty much.
Damn genuinely you were not kidding😭
btw if you didnt see the raw cut when he unwrapped it, it was brown and the silver skin was peeling off and the fat was wrinkling and supifying
which is fancy scientific speak for
that mf was rotting
Next video the meat is gonna be bubbling and have mold growing on it
he also complained of it smelling of ammonia aka the number 1 smell of active decomp because its the product of bacteria breaking down meat
No I didn't see that pin it?
It has a new organism growing on it
Listen. I taught today how to make: collards, cornbread, and yams. I've taught all sorts of meat dishes. And I took my safe serve test. Never have I seen any food get that awful.
@indigo night
hello chat
oh a fourth player joins the party
Run from the horrors while you can
whats goin on tonight
im informing people of Max the Meat Guy's trespasses against wild game cooking
look if you dare
nuh uh im a brave boy
I knew about it and im still horrified
Oh gosh. On that note...I need sleep. 😂 We gonna pray I don't get nightmares of rotten meat.
if it helps the raccoon was very fresh
he still cooked it borderline blue rare
Yeah nasty. Probably still Stew some of hungry like nonna use to make God bless her
In that man's hands? Not really.
in his exotic bird video he deef fried a whole ostrich drumstick
Ive always made raccoon into fried nuggets then dip them into sauce
is this the guy i see eating coyotes on youtube shorts
on the bone
Coyote can be good but his was..
Questionable
coyote can basically be leaner venison
as long as you dont have a rotten yote
i think him and his girl or whoever said it tasted like pee lmfao
which i dont think its supposed to taste like
ahhh, urea, a byproduct of acids in rotten meat being heated
Every yote ive had has been like this unless i make nuggets and they come out crispy
curious!
Really? Coyote actually good. Thought it would taste like ass except worst
no it just got a bad wrap cause most of the people who try it are one of two people
they either A
take one thats been sun rotting on the shoulder of the road for 8 hours after getting slammed by an SUV
Nah trust is baked to perfection
or B, improperly prepare it and let it spoil/do something that only really works with beef and end up flavorbombing themselves with game taste
Yeee yee
bonus points if they havent ever really eaten game meat and despise gamey taste
which btw
every
EVERY TIME
Max makes ANY GAME MEAT
"oh its too gamey for me" low rating
How do you fumble that bad.
BOY I SWEAR TO GOD-
Even when I was new to cooking game meat it wasn't as bad
he called pigeon/dove gamey and I think said wild goose is too intense for him
if his palette is that bland and sensitive im shocked he can even use salt
Ever tried snake
not yet but my mom has
Pigeon and dove especially when they've eaten corn recently hits different
prairie rattler specifically
said its like chewier bullfrog with a more distinct taste
I haven't had any reptiles.
I most eat game birds or squirrels
Or the occasional rabbit/hare
Not bad. Butter rosemary chefs kiss
max when game tastes gamey
Literally a "my steak is too juicy my lobster is too buttery" moment
they taste tested the maple bourbun rubbed elk ribeye
livery aftertaste
from normal ass ribeye cut off an elk
for the 56 millionth time
can we say rot
Wouldn't get as many views
I feel bad for anyone that isn't knowledgeable enough with anything culinary to make that and taste it
"Why was that one so bad? I typically love elk." -Max after tasting the obviously rotten elk
putrefying bacteria review: too gamey for me
yes, the floor here is made out of floor
literally this
True. They do overreact youngens... eat them grits
The humble bacteria and disease ridden elk
the humble concept of advanced decomposition
Will put hairs on your chest
OH MY GOD
THE OTHER DUDE
I CANT REMBER HIS NAME
AND TBH IT AINT IMPORTANT
ON THE TEXTURE OF THE ELK
AND I QUOTE
"Mushy but spongey"
🤢 🤮
aint no way
these folks have narrowly avoided parasites and food poisoning idk how many times
...
oh no wait I got it mixed up
the above was the control
and I quote
They probably have them. Slowly sucking their life force away
i mean. there is a possibility they havent avoided parasites
they must have a luck charm
And managed to gutload bacteria
Somehow.
hello fellow denizen who is also aware of this dude's crimes
I have a iron stomach but that would definitely make me sick
i feel like itd make a feedlot pig sick
There's no somehow
They ate actively rotting meat. Ish had bacteria for SURE
Steve Rinella.
oh they fried the raccoon to make nuggets
I forgot about meat eater
I watched one episode and got bored
Its not bad if they make it right
this is the coyote and im already concerned
Ive had that
At least he looks like he has them so you know he knows hunts and eats it
they approved heartily of it
ofc the raccoon wasnt rotten
But,then again actively hunting will burn lots of calories
Billy I'm more worried
this is still the yote
Why is it so yellow.
Hmmm... why do this meat look familiar 🤔
okay the cross-section isnt nearly as bad as the elk
but still the rind and oxidation on the fat worries me
actually sounds fire
Looks alright.
he cooked it medium
It was
he cooked a monogastric animal
Butchered for 4 years
I dont even have a reaction image for this
Under cook 🤮
Nothing expresses my confusion and concern enough
Good morning yall!!
Ello
What the HECK
morning!
Max the Meat Guy
Morning soft tender licorice 😂
"The meat guy"
First thing I see in the morning is coyote wellington 😭
Tragically yes
Coyote is one of my favorite game meats and seeing that hurts me so much.
That has to taste.... Peculiar
if you want context start here
hyrax has experience with it but coyote (as long as its not rotten and not prepared by an idiot) is basically hella lean venison thats a bit more gamey
He better have free healthcare
bobcat is basically pork
Clearly needs a lesson in field prep and food safety
down to the point that if its cooked bland with no seasoning it just tastes like nothing
Oh
but if you actually season it and use literally any fat its god tier
Then it should be nice
Preach
basically everything can easilyt be mad delicious as long as you dont mess it up
then you have Max the Meat Guy cooking an actually rotten elk ribery
see here
Why
it was brown
Oh god I can smell that photo
when they taste tested it they said it was spongey and upon unwrapping Max complained of an ammonia smell
they cooked it anyway
here's the standard cooked cut
spongey = rotting which = bad
literal black rind half rotten maple bourbon rub
and this spongey ass cross section showing its hella rotten
and so rare its still bugling
L take
this guy bro
he called dove gamey and said goose was too intense
yknow, wild goose
the gamebird that deadass just tastes like a beef roast with less fat
Couple times ive cooked it best its described is lean venison or poultry
Goose is lovely
Ive only had canada geese cant say the same about other geese
every time comments like this get ignored
depends on what theyve fed on but basically yeah
whitefronted are simultaneously super rich and a bit sweet
its like the elk of geese basically
older bigger ganders for canadas can be beefy
Might try to get some tags for those when it comes around
theyre damn good eating
equivalent to canvasback or grainfed mallard among duck
Mallard and gadwall always tasted good for me
Havent had canvasback or scaup but I really want to try it
Hello guys!i dont want to make any of u mad and please forgive me if i made some of u mad,but would someone be kind to help me?
I was on xbox and i had kind of a grind and lots of animals ,and now im on pc and this game doesnt have cross proggresion and i lost everything!
Would someone help me and let me hunt or give me a Great One ?or at least smth cool
You can often ask for people to hunt with you in #🦌︴find-a-game
There may be some people in there that'll be glad to
Thanks!
That also applies to (i'm sorry honse) horse meat
🐴
It tastes sooooo good unless you dont remove fat, then it taste soo bad
Horse steak is amazing cooked medium rare, much better than beef (unless the beef is properly dry aged, thats incredible)
beef is highly unique in the fat actually tasting good
ive heard of things (potatoes mainly) being fried in horse fat, i wonder how that lends. probably an acquired taste
so is pork
damn near everything else keeping the fat on is borderline murder for the cut
Man.... as a kid and now as an adult I love pork liver. It's my favourite past time
So nostalgic doing salami with all the men in the family... I miss those days
i'mma do a quick rotation of fallow before i go to sleep
How we doin chat
Chilling, you?
my friend has joined the dark siide
Wym?
Ain't no friend
Hes good
Lost soul
Exactly
He taxied a great one tahr, superrare blue sheep and superrare wiild yak
Maybe saved even more
..
I'd love to see some of these animals legit but modded servers are so anoyying like just let us get them by ourselves instead of spawning them in mp
Now he tryna convince me its not modded
What are the chances
That he kept server hopping
Ppl don't join mp servers with g1s and srs
There can still be modded servers just less chance then pc
How long you been playinhg
Like 180 hrs
Whats your best trophy
G1 fallow
Grind or Luck

i'm meant to finish the vurhonga storyline today but.. this heat, i wanna play a cold map instead 😭 even being in a warm map in game makes me feel dizzy
Which scope you have ?
When you use the smallest its really impressive 😭
I mean it’s my fifth troll in a row
Bou-bou-goat-goat-bou
hello hunters
Morning hunters.
I have two questions :Do we have info about new map? and why not yet?
We’ll get something tomorrow or Wednesday I reckon
I mean could be today ya never know
No CMs online
Not bad for the 1st day on my EC Single-Player map. Not pictured is a Hog Deer that trolled by .23
True.
bro i just started the game 2 hours ago and just the default u get
no dlc
chilling
I was boiling yesterday. Swedish summer is coming!!
AC does not exist over here
It's also boiling in the uk😭
aside from offices and allat
Why?
our houses are built to keep heat in
Kinda seems like something everywhere should have
So in other words you’re getting cooked like a roast in your own home
being able to implement ac over here into individual homes is widely inaccessible for a number of reasons
yah
its worse every year
fyi it's not even summer yet LAWL
over here
Drink ice water and play medved or askiy
YEA IM ON MEDVED RN!!! trying to keep cool HELPPP
i'm meant to be on vurhonga but erm. no thanks . makes me feel dizzy
Woe 10,000 pissed off wolves be upon ye
I'm on layton cuz im bored 😭
if i believe hard enough i am in the taiga
can i just get one 10 fabled
medved oneof my fav maps ever
You can have a level nine rare fur troll
aww. shucks
see the thing is all our summer stuff is away in storage but it's too hot to now get into storage to get it out.. still got my winter duvet on LOL
bc the heat just ! rears its ugly head before we've planned to retrieve it
What’s a duvet
Official is about the explode chat is all red
why will we all be exploding. that sounds like it would generate a lot of heat and well im trying to keep cool
A comforter?
Good point i’ll defuse it
i guess ya! i aint know what they're called elsewhere
Quick start convincing Vivi I should voice act the next warden
I didn’t know there were different ones for different seasons
yea we tend to swap over to lighter duvets in the summer
bc otherwise. boiling
I sleep under a very light one all year
Eh cover is a cover for me
I get very very hot in bed
im dreadful at temp regulation so i try and have plenty of options
But that’s also cause we don’t use different sheets for different seasons in America
I’ll just wake up in a lot of sweat in summer
It’s the fabled vivi
Sleeping in the summer in Sweden is choosing between opening all the windows to stay cool, but it's too bright, or cover the windows and boil alive in your sleep.
Boil alive it is
been looking into the potential of dysautonomia which would. explain a lot as to why my body does not. body right . at anything really
got loadsa tests booked in
I can’t manage temperatures cause I have no real muscle mass
me when i open the window and. i get bugs . in my bed. heyy .. stop that.. gooo away..
Oh.. I'm sorry I complained 😭
They’re a tropical country makes sense
good
Humans have 2 forms after all, solid and fluid
yeowach, stay cool
bro in my building 2 people ac's exploded
Yeah that happens in tropical areas
yea
@lone drift I accidentally pressed x on my controller and didn't see if it was dime
Ima check in my tent
Go to codex
DIME
You can see
LETS GO
How big
Ima check in my lodge rq
our country is build for ... well. i have no idea our infrastructure is poor at everything . but it's worst in the heat
we ain't prepared for nuuuthhhhin everrrrr
I went looking for adders today but it was too hot
Okay so doing the math 43 C is 109 F which is the same temp as my hometown
Yeah you walk into direct sunlight you burn
First death Vally citizen i have met
Cali
Where’s Cali
California
That’s the east coast right?
I’m messing with ya
nicee
Yes rose chafer
Crazy looking emerald green metallic beetle
not too hot
Time to look for more moose
i'm just sitting doin nothing and by gpu is tweaakkin
Isn’t 58 c the highest air temp ever recorded 😭
my fart is hotter than that
that's the gpu within a pc
cpu
mines at 60 cel rn i aint even doooinnn anythingggg
got a fan on it too
I live in cold country ig highest temp ever was 40,1 celsius
bro india reached 50 celcius rn its 43
Lwk I want a moose like dime or g1 to go aggressive for pics
we're set for 40 Celsius this week in England, never been recorded here before
the heat is one thing, the humidity is another , the issue over here is that it's actually usually hotter indoors than it is outdoors because of our awful infrastructure built to capture and retain heat
and my mother still drink hot tea
✌️ 😭
Highest recorded temperature on earth is currently 56.7c in death valley California
That’s air temp
we aint built for allat , other countries who face that as a typical climate year round naturally have infrastructure to prevent this. literal oven effect
Not counting active volcanoes
Ground temp is 70 or something
Crazy heat wave for ya’ll it’s gonna be 30 degrees here max
Which is not unusual at all for the netherlands
can't wait for the summer /sarc
isn't spring meant to be kind and gentle.,............... no longer
where u live
Netherlands
adopt me
Do you like cheese and wooden shoes
where tf do u live
Currently in Oregon, USA
i love shoes 🤤
So 12 C
Highest recorded is still considered death valley at furnace creek
i want be thereeeee
Share some of those nice low numbers eh
You can pry them out of my comfortably cold dead hands
Furnaces do not count my furnace is also very hot 😔
Please never scare me like this again
Furnace creek ranch record is something like 92 or 93 Celsius and that's one of the reasons i stay out of that part of the state
Guess that’s why it’s called furnace creek
Dude I miss Oregon
I just got here idk how any of this public transit stuff works
Oh, me neither lol, I'm from south central Oregon
Yeah my hometown has less than 300 people
My grandma and sister live on the coast there near Newport. Third house from the beach
That’s a small place
Indeed it is
Oh cool! The coast is awesome
Not do awesome during storms when highway is closed and nobody can leave town for two weeks lol
Very true, that's no good
coturnix quail next pls
We've got family near Newport, in Portland, Dallas, Eugene and a few other cities.
Hello
That’s a harlequin quail no
does yukon valley wolf feeder grind sound like a plan ?
i'm not tooo sure
i might save medved for a moose grind
and askiy for mule
Does anyone know if the game will become cross platform
I know Flinter managed to do one
No idea, maybe someday? But I dunno how hard it is to do that
Ok
Most likely not
Still not anything new?
Hey, if anyone here knows: I just read the "game news" and they said they "dont have the tech for another africa map"
What does that mean?
Why would an africa map require more than other maps?
I dunno exactly what it means, but I'm guessing they really really want to make the next Africa map perfect cause it has high expectations
I don't blame em
It does? I never really interact with the community, so i havent heard of this. Why does it have such high expectations
Probably they want to implement new mechanics and are still working on them
Interesting
Monkeys in the same would be so cool
Yeah, folks really want another Africa map
Then all my friends can say I've been added to the game
I doubt it honestly
Makes sense
We've only got one, no?
Yep, just Vurhonga
Me too but that's the only thing that came into my mind when they were talking about the inabillity to implement some things
Yeah the animals are outdated now, but it's my only option so I have to hunt there lol
Why is it your only option?
It's the only African map
Fair, maybe they don't mean implementing things is the problem, might be engine issues or something like that
That's what i was thinking
Nah I got all of em, but if I want to hunt in Africa it's the only spot to go
I have all except Ta cuz it's useless for me
Which one was Ta again?
Anywhere to be honest, east Africa is where most folks want to see cause that's generally what you think of when you hear Africa
A map based on Ngorongoro crater would be a dream
I think that's Tanzania?
I hope for namibia or south africa
I don't grind at all
So no point in having it
Also i aint buying it only for chamois
I see, I see. I think a desert map could also be cool?
I don't either, I still love Te Awaroa
Sorry, I'm quite a casual player. What does te awaroa have to do with grinding?
