my impressions were that the 30-30 is STILL a letdown. 44 magnum rips them open, but judging the distance with a max 150m zero is more difficult on their size, more likely to take a bad shot. The 45 caliber air rifle actually worked pretty well, I could kill roe deer 200m out easily, and they wouldn't spook one another when they die

First time grinding a Great One Fallow Deer on Te Awaroa. I’ve found all my drink zones and have tents set up on the right side of the map. Most of my males are level 3 or lower, barely seeing any 4s.

I’ve been only shooting level 4+ and taking out any solo males I find.

Am I hurting my herd management by leaving level 3s alive, or do I just need to keep grinding? Any tips to start getting higher-level spawns?

Yeah, loose the pistol and shotgun and carry both, if you see a roe Deer or fallow you can shoot them with the .243 and you can shoot the reds with the .270

Try to make good shots with the .270 since a single kill can pay for 10-20 rounds so if you shoot carefully you will never run out of ammo

this is actually a marco polo/chinese argali, the ones in Mongolia are Altai Argali which have shorter horns but with more mass

theyre also notably heavier
