That’s what I did on medved, got up enough money to stack up on ammo and such. But Layton is too big I just ignored everything and sped around to lookouts and lodges. I’m just tryina open all my maps again so I can hunt freely again without having to travel 10km for a certain lake or bouncing around for drink zones

I just shot 2 wildebeest, crazy that the entire herd was level 3 males. Anyways, I shot the first as it was running by me with the .300 blackout. I turned back the rest of them and switched to my binoculars as I did, I then realized they're stampeding at me so I switch back to the .300 blackout. I shoot another male, it dropped instantly. I was like wow I hit the heart. I harvest it, saw I just double lunged it. Then I noticed I didn't pass the harvest check. Improper ammo type.

I'm like are the wildebeest class 7 or something?? Look at the class on the harvest check, nope they're 6. I look at the weapon I used, .470 DB🧍

irl A lot of meat damage comes from high velocity impacts opening up bullets very quickly. 375H&H doesn't have the velocity of a lot of the smaller caliber hunting rounds and the bullets tend to be designed for very controlled expansion.

It will do more damage than say a 75gr 223, but as long you aren taking shots that will put the bullet through the animal's shoulder bones, you'll be ok

Jsyk you may have to do a fresh install. Those mods are infectious. They can affect your files even after being deleted so if you notice anything still hinky, uninstalling the game and all mods then reinstalling can fix it. In rare cases you’d need to nuke your save but I understand why you may be hesitant lol

use the drink zone map (think you can view online or etc websites/images) so you know the eact area of the elk. its very typical to see large female herds btw so dont fret on that

I was going at 7 cuz the drink time ends around 8, and had to success so i started going a little early

When the zone starts the animals have to travel over to that drinking zone so they be various of timings especially if they leave early or late from their zone

Don’t fast travel directly on top of them. When you get 200m away from the drink zones, just walk and be cautious. Remember you won’t see anything further than 400m out as a general rule

Guys, I shot a Bengal Tiger while it was in the bushes stalking me, I hit it with a vital and it looked to be a psuedo Melanistic I think. I follow it's track and they all just vanish? I don't know what the hell happened. Same with a snow Leopard, I had one sit literally right next to me, I follow its tracks, it does a dookie and theres no more tracks..

Yeah it's kinda funny, but uh, seriously..

I've taken to shooting a 22 round in the air, more often than not I'll either get a warning call or a fleeing call. Great little way to find where the animals are hiding
