just tell him find all his zones and leave all diamonds. focus on killing everything with curved racks that IS NOT a diamond.

once everything is all spikes, Y rack level 2s, and diamonds. you choose 8+ zones (preferably over 8 bc whitetail sometimes dont show up n having more zones to shoot is better) (with 2 males or more) for main zones and then you can start killing all the small deer out of those main zones, once theres only big deer in the main zones you go around and shoot all the level 2 Y racks into spikes, kill all the diamonds in exteriors to spikes, then you can start the grind on your main zones.

i wouldn’t worry too much about level 4s the best way to tell if a deer species will make diamond is by learning how they score in the “truscore” section & scoring them visual by the rack, overtime you’ll get better at it if you keep guessing before you shoot it, you’ll learn what racks can make it and which ones can’t.

If your curious what happened 'i shot a bear it was a weak shot, i tracked the mf for like 5 miles just looping around the watch tower and when i finally got to an opening of the woods i couldn't see it i was looking around and then this bear decided im gonna juke this dude so bad he's gonna be aiming at the ground 💀 and this bear runs past me at blazing speed i shot straight into the dirt it evaded into some bushed then decided hang on i left the oven on in the other bush and ran past me again i shot and it still ate dirt 😭✌️

Any tips for a new player with just the base game rn? I'm having a lot of fun but want to know if there are any good tips and tricks you'd be willing to share.

hunting animals when they drink & in their home range is a very consistent way to constantly find animals, hotspot maps are a great help. also if you care about rares, there are some that you wouldn’t expect to be rare, so it’s good to do a little research before claiming an unfamiliar species 👍🏽

drink zones are great bc it’s easy to get a clean shot on them without having to stalk through foliage for 20 minutes

and if you have to get just one DLC, get the ATV. it’s kind of a need in terms of exploring the map. i got it on sale for just $1.50

other recommended DLC:

• bloodhound makes tracking prey sooooo much easier
• game feeders are essentially a DIY feed zone which can be really nice
• if you’ve ever looked at a spot and thought “man i sure wish there was an outpost here”, you’ll want the tents

Where do I find people to play with on pc? I just switched from Xbox and it’s a lot easier there with group posts so I’m lost

game feeder is expensive compared to other dlc, but if you want to be able to place your own feed zones, its worth it

the high tech hunting pack is a little bit underwhelming, the rifle scope doesnt zoom in that far, but the bow sight with automatic distance estimation is a lifesaver

if you’re into bow hunting or small game hunting, i’d also recommend labrador since it can retrieve your small harvests, and if you have the skill that makes it so arrows can be retrieved, the dog can fetch arrows

bow hunting is actually so much fun, an arrow has more penetration than the shotgun slugs, i ALWAYS bring arrows to hunt big game with

one of them (forgot which) gives you tracer arrows, except you don’t need to gain archery score to unlock the heavy tracer arrows. so you can actually use the 600 gram arrows with the insane penetration right off the bat if you get it

i accidentally shot a gold roosevelt elk directly through the brain with them tho which kind of sucked

interestingly the labrador also has a red lab variant. i have a red lab and rarely see them represented anywhere so its nice to see

oh another thing about arrows

they dont make a loud noise when shooting

so you wont startle prey in as far of a radius

the night vision binoculars are often ineffective in layton lake bc of how foggy it gets at night, but on the off chance that its clear, they can really come in handy

Or a hound DLC. If I could chase bears with hounds on NEM, I would be okay with more mundane maps. But the carcass feeder and the ability to use them for African Leopards makes too much sense.

It'll come at some point, but all the equipment, weapons, dogs, and maps make it the premier hunting game, even if it can be a bit arcade like.

That's a decent one. Fast firing, quick to load. It will do the job, but it doesn't have the stopping power of the other two.
