Judging an animal by their estimates, especially a non max level one, is setting yourself up for disappointment. I don't know racks or anything, so I just assume nothing is a diamond until it's claimed. But either way, we all have our different ways to play and if you think that playing via estimates are cool, then you do you 🙂

I was saying it more to set expectations. If the estimates for every level 8 black bear was diamond potential, then newer players would assume they have a chance at getting a diamond at level 8. It's moreso to only truly expect a diamond at max level and even then it could still troll. Maybe I am pessimistic by nature, it would be hard to say that without actually knowing my mind and thought rationality.
