When you harvest them their zones move but they both respawn. If you kill but don't harvest them, they will respawn with a chance to swap places entirely, so you can swap your females in one area out for males in another!

What I try to do is keep the mindset and play to just improve my map. Here's an area I want to manage it down. Of all the big herd animals. Okay here are my big main zones I want them to just look good. Have nice bug herds with some big herd bucks. Instead of omg 100 kills an hour teleport kill teleport reset non stop. And after some management I'll go reward myself with a diamond and kill some mid levels on the mains. And maintain them a little make those mid levels a little bigger since ive been managing.

The shells themselves seem fine. They're nothing special, and seem to have the same spread as .20ga and .12ga, roughly..
The problem is the gun. The drilling rifle is not suited as a consistent small game hunter and has pretty terrible reload even with max reload skills.

I can dump 4rds with about any other double barrel before I can reload the drilling rifle.

So 16ga as a nice little backup option for a surprise turkey or something while you're hunting bison? Absolutely.

As a primary weapon for small game hunting? Hell no.

The 16 tents 8 at least to cover 4 zones is gonna be pretty typical of any grind. As for blinds as long as your not killing 5 back to back and rotate through mutiple zones you shouldn't be shooting out your zones. If absolutely need be. You can buy waterfowl blinds they are half the cost of a tripod.

What I've done, at least for Salzwiesen Park, is scout the drink zones, select the ones that are ideal for hunting, and keep those as my primary rotation. Then, for the areas that are too difficult or annoying to hunt, I simply watch the foxes and see where they go to eat. They eat right after drinking, and they go to open fields to eat. So I can rotate drink zones, then once drink time is over, walk to the feed zones and take the rest. Easy peazy.

umm, HM kind of has a limit I've learned, there will be a specific number of max levels that appear during a run, and a max that you can keep on your map, as the rest of the animals will be smaller levels to compensate for the max levels.

I don't think there's a set cap, but that is the intention of the balancing mechanic that HM takes advantage of. That way you don't end up having all level 1s or all max levels just from playing
