Meat hunters, at least in the south, tend to shoot the first legal deer to walk by their stand. That's how we did it growing up. Hunt until we got 3 deer; that was enough to last the year.

A membership into a hunting club that is 100$ or slightly less a year
You are allowed to hunt any animal that is not off-season aka not in a "hunt stop period"
You are allowed to only hunt during non-working days. This includes holidays, religious off days, national off days, and so on.

So assuming you hvae a rifle, ammo is going to be cheap anyways.

It seems like 12ga has a more even spread throughout it's distribution, while 10ga has a more focused center spread, with a sort of outer spread around it.

So, if that's consistent (and it seems to be), the better you are at actually landing direct, centered shots, the better the 10ga is.

The worse your aim, however, the better the 12ga is.

No. You can compensate for falloff and hit targets perfectly. all weapons have falloff. The accuracy of the weapon itself isn't affected by range, just compensate for drop.

But this is a great time to bring up how Effective Range actually does correlate to performance beyond said range.

.454 has a low effective range and that's an indicator of it's bullet drop, which is severe at long range. Unlike .45-70 which has not only a 50% increased effective range, but the handgun has a 200m zero and very comfortably hits 400m targets. All ammo types lose power at long range, but some do so far worse than others, so looking at their penetration stats alone won't help if you're a sniper.

Assuming you can get them to respawn to same zone aka you discovered other zones and they are full, you just leave 2 alive per one zone regardless of gender (ideal is 2 alive being females still though)

And always shoot the highest scoring animal to increase chances of next respawn being a diamond. G1 is on its separate mechanic rng.

Essentially in theory, if you are doing G1 grind only, then just shoot as many males as possible. If it has a peepee shoot it. Your goal while doing G1 grind is to get as many male kills as possible per minute, hour or similar. Thats it.
Reason for that is simply because each male kill can trigger a G1 respawn, so the only way to "skew" your chances mathematically is to kill males fast and a lot because that means a lot more triggers of possible G1s.
For dimes you do need HM and shoot only highest level one.

Found cross platform often makes for laggy buggy experiences in a lot of video games.

More bugs and connection issues, modded stuff being more common on consoles which could brick their saves, more children in PC multiplayer (as consoles are often more the younger crew), more entitled "help me now" players since it isn't platform restricted...

My limited knowledge of coding tells me that updating CotW to cross platform capability would require such an overhaul, they would essentially need to make a new game entirely, due to both the age of the engine used and how very differently each platform version was made, they may as well be different games in many aspects. It just isn't realistic to expect or hope for crossplay to happen. And I can guarantee you if it ever does, at least 75% of console players will leave it disabled.

It's also got a great sound profile and can actually be used kind of stealthily at 350m+, unlike every other firearm that isn't a .22lr. And it still takes game at those ranges. For free. Highly underrated.

I mostly just used it because I like bolt actions however even with a vital shot still tracking the animal quite a ways sometimes for things in its class range.

That difference in penetration really only matters at extreme range on large class 8 animals like moose, and often only at odd angles. Against class 4-7 animals the penetration for both might as well be identical!

Nah i found the 308 just drops things even at the end of its rating 243 does not even using the pen ammo shooting vitals.

Hell I've used the 308 to drop things above its rating just because my only large game rifles are single shot and it still slaps.

For some rifles this is true, but most class 4-8 rifles can double lung (or triple organ with expansion rounds) class 7-8 game even at 300m. I just posted a vid showing how quick both .30-06 and .308 can drop class 7. It does demand more skill than simply aiming at the torso with a class 7-9 though, no doubt.

(I do prefer shots like this be done with expansion ammo, personally)

Most people only ask for best because they don't understand how to shoot/aim with the zeroing factor. They are used to guns that shoot flat and straight for 1km
