There are no fake flocks. The "fake" goose flocks that fly overhead are legitimate. There's a chance you can call them in or attract them with decoys and when that attempt is successful, they will properly spawn in and approach.

Animals will still pass through dead zones! It just prevents need zones from spawning within, but animals traveling between zones are unaffected.

I hunt pheasant, fox, raccoon and raccoon dogs in that dead zone too.

If you shoot an animal in it's trophy organ (for example, hitting deer in the skull), you shoot an animal with a weapon too weak or powerful, you miss vitals, or you shoot it more than twice, you will fail a harvest check and the animal will lose one trophy rating. Take these two as an example. The Roe Deer was shot with the right caliber of weapon, but no vitals were hit.

Likewise, the Fox was shot with the right caliber, and the brain is a vital, but the skull is it's trophy organ, so it failed a check.

Most map DLC weapons are 75k credits, most of the really good equipment does still require a relatively significant grind, and at the end pf the day the biggest power boosts are the perks/skills which are level locked

IMO there are only a couple really OP DLC weapons/items, and most of these are only OP until you unlock a better version from the base game
