To hit a clean 200m shot you have to aim a little bit higher than where you want the bullet to go

Super late to this, but the reason the Hornet hits so low at 400m is because it only zeroes to 150m, not 300m.

It's 400m zero is the 4th Mil-Dot at 16x zoom, if zeroed to 150m. Very accurate and much better ballistics than the .22lr or .22mag. It's the rifle I use for render distance sniping class 1s.

Okay so the .308 Zarza shoots flat enough at 150m, you shouldn't be shooting high at that sort of range disparity. Go to the range and test it. Set your zero to 150 and shoot a 100m target. It should be just a bit high.

Set the target at the range to 100m, and set your rifle zero to 150m. Shoot at bullseye and see where the shot lands. It should be just a little high, but still "will kill a deer" accurate.

Yeah elevation has an impact and at long ranges your shot is falling down on top of the target, so those factors come into play.

Devs probably won't confirm squat, they want the game mechanics to retain some mystery. Myself and everyone else who's been playing for years, however, can confirm that HM does not impact G1 spawns.

That said, there's little reason not to HM as a G1 method since the benefit is greater quantities of diamonds and higher quality rare fur spawns in general. It's not much slower than the G1 method of "kill it if it moves and has a weiner".

Haven't tested those two (yet) but both rifles zero at 300m and the .308 caliber in general has good, flat ballistics for it's class. As long as you shoot within 300m you shouldn't have to consider bullet drop!

If you place a feeder and it spawns a feed zone for one of the attracted animals, there is a chance that feed zone could spawn a secondary feed zone for a non-attracted species, if that secondary species is tied to the primary species.

hell i took out 3 level 4 feral goats in one spot shooting from 150 away without a single one spooking

I've taken Fallow, Whitetail and Fox as close as 100m without spooking! I've also taken one herd of whitetail at about 75m without them spooking but I'm fairly certain it was a glitch or something.

Ive taken animals from closer without spooking while inside a water blind that floats. Haha just gotta make sure to lay back down inside the blind after each shot. Also been working on ranges with each mildot for all scopes haha you can reach out to 300m with odin using the bottom of the mildot line where it thens THICK.

Especially on scotland! You can shoot badgers fox roe deer sika deer and all non dime potential level 1 animals

And forgot goats.

Not being able to pause doesn't really change anything with this game really. The animals don't move around the map quickly and you've got quite a bit of time if you need a couple minutes. In 99% of cases, not being able to pause time won't affect anything. The animals will likely still be at or somewhere near where you left them

yeah the atv is pretty nice for unlocking the map! and it can be pretty good for killing upland bird species because they will hide until you drive over them, also rabbits will tap their foot letting you know where they are, but besides that you can do deer drives if you know the proper places to do it

I'd recommend you get used to the game mechanics first and explore other maps on MP before committing to buying one for yourself. Maps others recommend may be terrible for your preferences. For example, I hate Yukon but it's highly recommended.

They will always run after you shoot. Holding your breath to control your aim will help you take distance shots to down the animal you're after

One key thing to keep in mind when shooting is that most rifles have a default zeroing of 150m. That means at exactly 150m out from your target, the bullet will hit exactly where the crosshairs meet

You're using the .243, which has poor penetration but good organ damage. Pull your shots back further down the body, almost halfway, instead of going for the standard "just behind the shoulder" shot placement you would expect. You'll still hit lung and drop them more easily, but they don't drop immediately. Follow their blood trail which they leave, to find them.

honestly, the species i want to see are:

• reworked lions (better models, diverse sizes and manes, just as aggressive/stalkish as tigers but ofc operating in prides, making them much more dangerous)
• leopards (we've had enough conversation about the ethics of leopard hunting. no reason not to add them)
• cape buffalo (a give-in, theyre gorgeous and massive)
• greater kudu (paired with the optional and pre-existing lesser, if map region permits. i think they really fumbled on this one. greater kudu are probably some of the most gorgeous higher-tier antelope africa has. their trophies would be insane)
• nile crocodile
• common eland OR waterbuck
• hartebeest OR sable
• hyena
• zebra
