. 375 will ruin the trophy rating of anything class 1-6, so don't shoot animals you want to keep with it unless they're class 7-9.

The .450, I believe, can cover class 4-7 without ruining trophy rating.

If you just want a gun that can kill everything really well with no concern for trophy rating, the .375 will certainly fill that role.

I noticed some circumstances cause pressure buildup to change. Sometimes it's 3 kills to a dead zone and sometimes the 4th is a dead zone. I'm not sure what triggers this, maybe shooting alerted animals or something. But bows and the crossbow consistently stay at 15 kills, 16th dead zone.

I open up my map for large game diamonds and G1s that I don't care about in the rare instances they spawn, so someone who DOES want them can harvest, then as soon as they do my maps are closed again. Occasionally I'll open them up to show how to set up tents and Tripods, etc, but it always turns into "ok cool now let me hunt all of your maps for 5 minutes at a time". Every time. Without fail. So I stopped doing that.

Great Ones, unlike Diamonds, have a separate spawn mechanic and can spawn from killing and harvesting any male of their species, regardless of that male's level. So just kill a ton of males of the G1 species you want, and you'll speed up the process. But luck is still the ultimate power, because you could see one after 1 kill, or after 10,000.

As an example of how much luck is involved, I'm really unlucky with Merriam Turkey. I've probably killed more turkey than most other species combined and I still haven't gotten a diamond. I should have dozens by now, based on statistics, but I keep drawing the short straw on them specifically.

Meanwhile on the other end, I have never done any sort of grind for Gemsbok, Moose, Blacktail Deer, or Wolves. I have diamonds for all of them. Multiple for moose and blacktail. 😂

Start by verifying your files in the steam library, then try doing a restart update to verify your drivers are all up to date. Once all that is done if there is no solution, consider manually searching your entire PC for any remnant files that could be causing malfunction, hiding somewhere you may not expect. It's possible you could have some form of virus that was attached to a mod and installed elsewhere, too.

You can run various 3-gun setups to cover all classes.

1 needs to be a .22 of some kind, or a shotgun, to cover class 1. Potentially class 1-2 depending on specific model.

2 needs to be a versatile rifle with wide coverage, such as most class 2-6 or 4-9 rifles.

OR, you could do a cheeky 2-gun setup with a 10ga shotgun and the .44 lever action rifle.

10ga Shotgun covers class 1-2 with Birdshot, and class 9 with Slugs.

.44 covers class 3-8.

The trick with Mil-Dots on the crossbow, using 420g bolts, is keeping your scope at 4x zoom, not 5x. At 5x zoom they won't line up properly.

I use Mil-Dot 02, so I have an additional dot.
So if you're zeroed at 60m with 420g bolts, the first mil-dot is 80m. The 2nd mil-dot is 100m. The third mil-dot 120m. The fourth and final mil-dot is 150m, and the bottom of your crosshair is 175m.

The first 3 mil-dots are rough estimates, they're actually sighted in for somewhere between 20-25m of drop, but at those ranges the difference really doesn't matter much since your arrow is coming down at an acute enough angle to compensate.

The 150m and 175m ranges are bang on though.

Funny enough, to due the pellet of the .45 air rifle essentially being in full free fall by the time it reaches 300m, the only way to reliably "zero" to 300m with it is to set your Hyperion to 7x zoom and use the 4th Mil-Dot. Bang on, the air rifle becomes a silent sniper.

It has penetration drop-off.

Penetration dies off at longer ranges so if you use pen rounds at long range, you'll see notable increases in death dashes because the animal is no longer being double-lunged.

Expansion, however, is not affected at all. So their damage remains the same even at render distance.

Very-upper limit? Around 100m, but it requires some luck to be lethal. I've hit geese at 100m with a pellet and they survive.
