1. The barrel is just out of the attraction range of any bears in that area. It has about a 400m attraction radius.

2. You're checking at the wrong time. Feeders act as food need zones so check during feed hours.

Hear me out, right—unless you’re shooting subsonic ammo, the supersonic crack will still spook things

The only thing that silencers do for supersonic guns is they make it difficult for the animal to determine the point of origin of the bullet, and therefore where to run away from

It doesn’t mean they won’t spook or run, as though the crack is typically much quieter than a gunshot it has a much more annoying/harsh feeling sound

If you add suppressors, then truly subsonic calibers like 7.62x35–which is inexplicably weaker than its peers—might have a place at the table, and some other guns might benefit, but if they represent suppression realistically I don’t think things will shake up too much

Though simultaneously I don’t think we’re even shooting subsonic 7.62x35, it doesn’t have enough drop and it’s too fast

Yeah, the only handgun caliber with notable bullet drop is .45 colt, so far as I can tell

.45 colt is a BEAUTIFUL cartridge though, both the expansion ammo and penetration ammo is fantastic

Consistently gets single lung on class 4-8

But it struggles to get double lung on the higher classes even at very short range

Walk/crouch instead of run, drink times are your friend, aim for lungs just behind their front legs, generally poly tipped ammo/penetration is better for every class 4+. Patience is key
