shoot them in the lung!!! also dont go shooting big animals like moose, bison, bears. as a general rule of thumb for all animals if youre side on the lung will be around the back of the front legs but check the xray view in the kills to see where you go wrong OR how u got it right.

match the ammunition type to the class of the animals, so assuming ur still using the starting gun you can shoot from red fox up to red deer with it! you can also shoot bunnies and ducks with it too but wont pass the harvest check so you loose money and the medal will go down a level for that!

lookouts are the green binocular icons! someone said the other day it was Y to toggle the map legend lmk if it helps sorry!!! also after the tutorial ermmmm just hunt! dont worry about what you shoot or how you shoot it just get used to the game theres no worry about it at all early in the game! just take ur time and be patient, and one thing i learnt from my gf just starting out is if the animal runs dont assume you missed!

if you want the highest dime rate. you at end hm. you shoot only the biggest trophy score on your map. collect wait till it respawns dont kill anything else. thing is this isnt time efficient

but you can get it down to 1/3 on many species
