tbh it's pretty hard if you were just looking at a lone red deer, but in a herd it would stand out for sure, you'll start to get an eye for the new furs with time!

you can also check via disturbed veg or if something looks just a lil off, trust ur gut and shoot!

3s and 2s are fine, but lvl 3s are more likely to respawn as diamond sooner. Culling both 2 and 3 is fine though. The real important thing is making sure you don't eliminate a herd entirely if you like it, or reduce it's population to one.

300m kill with the air rifle on a class 4 was unexpected, I've routinely used it for class 3 at this range but didn't think it could penetrate a class 4 animal so far outside of it's effective range.

i use it for my SR beaver grind and consistently take out groups from 200m without spooking them

So I am new to the call of the wild and I was stalking a black bear at night (I didn't shoot at it, it spooked bc it saw or smelled me) and I tracked it for a very long time in a big U shape and then the tracks just vanished. I did a big grid pattern search where the last tracks were but I didn't find anything. Can animals just de-spawn after a while? Or am I missing something. I was pretty bummed bc i spent like an hour stalking just for it to seemingly sprout wings and fly off
