Biggest tip is to just have fun! Everyone has their own hunting style and preferences, so do the things you like the most as you get familiar with the game. Outside of that, pay attention to all of the things your UI tells you (wind direction, the sound you're making, how visible you are, etc).

With all of these fur-bears in the game now (or coming soon) trapping could bring a whole new element to the game. No other game in existence to my knowledge has trapping in a game.
