does anyone else still feel like Defense and Block are still the best stats after the nerf? like there's just no way to survive without them higher torment levels the damage is just to much you can't do a high health and regen build the damage is just to high. and we can still reach close to 90% damage reduction from defense pretty easily even after the nerf.

This really kills the build diversity for me personally. as we have all these cool items that do different things but I am forced to just use the same defense items with Mark of the shield to just survive.

What's everyone's thoughts if we added Defense and Block to the torment shards sure it would make us pretty much always invincible after a certain level of shards but it would allow for more build diversity and wider range of gameplay.

Love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Tldr:

-Defense and block strong because they are not available to boost via torment shards
-Suggest adding them to the torment shards bonuses you can level up
-Allows for wider build diversity
-looking for ways to avoid using defense and block stat on every character.

Can you give some more context about what kind of difficulty you're using defensive stats for? I'm currently finishing up my last 50/500 quests (done about 450) and my opinion has been the exact opposite. Using potions of oblivion to ignore those two stats. If anything, they are something that is only taken at the very end of a run, not at the start

Taking them at the start of a run does nothing in my experience because you need to outscale the higher tormented enemies by damage, not defense. You can avoid getting hit, but if you cannot avoid them piling up by having low defense, my runs are often doomed so DPS is the first check out of the gate to survive the several artifact runs
