All up, I reckon it’s probably easiest if we move to individual purchases for now. The seller has re-listed them at a decent price, and once duplicated fees and repackaging are factored in, there’s not much benefit in me facilitating a group buy — even if I was able to secure a lower initial cost. See below.
I might still be able to get a better bulk deal on Monday, but right now a single unit is now is the same. $67 USD, and it gets cheaper the more you buy thanks to combined shipping.
Just to clarify — the price I was quoting earlier was a worst-case estimate and was always going to be confirmed. I didn’t want to quote low and then have to come back and say it was higher, so I intentionally worked from the highest likely cost. As stated in the earlier posts, I’m still waiting to confirm the final group cost.
That figure was based on what I paid for mine and also only covered the fees PayPal charges back to me (nearly 10%+), the exchange rate impact (4%) new packaging ($10-$15 per box) repacking before sending them out. I was also planning to test each unit individually before resending, which meant taking the risk on my end if anything arrived faulty. There was no profit in it for me — just covering costs and a few spares to cover dead ones. They are 40-50 year old stock.
Ordering direct is probably the simplest option overall and removes that upfront risk from my side.
