Recoilfx's Throttle Build

As encouraged by @ocean venture and @woeful moat , I'm posting my completed throttle build here.

The whole throttle base and electronics are based on my own design but with rough dimensions from OH. The grip models are rebuilt as unibody and 3d printed in aluminum. All the structural parts are cnc'd aluminum. 3 rp2040s power everything (1 each for the grips, and one for the base).

There are a few things I would like to fix in the future, such as fixing the noisy adcs inside the grips and increasing the ANT wheel's return force. I'll post updates here when I get to work on them again. But for now, I need to actually test and use what I've built. I will be doing a build video, and once that's done, I'll release the Fusion assembly file too.

You know, this really does make me want to do some "Pro" line of designs for those that may have access to a decent machine shop. 😄

Yes you should! My machine shop is JLCPCB, and they are pretty affordable for what it is (all the CNC parts were around $300 shipped total). This is pre-tariff of course.

The assembly is very drafty currently- I can share but you'd have to be savvy enough to figure out some parts. I'll DM you.

Does decent machine shop count as just using the heck out of my schools 3d printers and multi-quadrillion something dollar laser cutters

Can the laser cut 5mm metal with good accuracy? Because the longer levers and the structural plates really need to be in metal. I believe there are other people who have designed 3d printed full size throttles but they print all the parts super thick.

I will admit, the baseline OH throttle is a series of compromises due to the fabrication tooling requirements.

(i.e. 3D printer and hand cutable aluminum plates.)
