Some progress on the upper instrument. Waiting for the Rowmark sheets
Looking good, not sure if this is something you might want to consider, post process on the 3d printed parts, get some spray automotive putty from your local car parts store, spray liberally then let dry, sand smooth with 2000 grit wet and dry paper, then your good to prime and paint, you should have a nice smooth finish.
Thanks for the tip. I'll test. I also noticed that when printing 3D, I have to have the visible side on the print bed. This also results in a much better surface.
I added a camera to my K40. Now it‘s easy to engrave the letters on the right position.
After a long time, I have once again put the MPCNC into operation. It's always fun. First wooden construction is now complete.
I use the framing feature in lightburn and do a low power pass for the outer edge on a piece of cardboard to draw an outline this helps with placement.
Today I made the cover.
Looks great! can you please explain what material you used and what technique to bend it? Did you use heat?
This is acrylic, which I shaped with a hot air gun.
Thanks! What is the thickness of the acrylic? Can you describe the process of shaping with a hot air gun in detail (temperature? Do you heat one area then the next or do you strafe back and forth for even heat-up)?
The thickness is 3mm. I will made a video to show the process.
