Hit a snag on the 2nd order they're low on stock for the TCA9554PWR I/O chip. I placed the order for the remainder of the boards (including AMPCD). I pre-ordered the 80 I/O chips to avoid competing with other orders. Once it's stocked I'll place the 3rd order for the 20 DDIs. From what I'm seeing on costs even with the 3rd order with 10 people the per-person price will be lower than the initial estimate...assuming that nothing changes price wise with the DDIs before we can finish the order.

Update on the progress. First order is well underway in production. The 2nd order is working through validating the files. I found on the ext lights panel 2 of the LED's were flipped around when comparing to KiCad. Waiting on those to be fixed so I can confirm the file for manufacturing. The I/O chips order's status is JLCPCB purchasing them. Once they have the chips I'll get a notice so I can place the 3rd order. I'll have the total costs nailed down then and can let the group know what the per-person cost will be.

No problem, the 2nd order files are validated and it's in production now. That just leaves the 20 DDIs left from the list.

Anyone @here want/need bare ALEs?

shut moss
#

I suspect yes, but still running the spool printer 24/7 and sneezing MDF. Every time I’ve done a major MDF project (does it seem like the acronym should be MFD?), I swear it off, but then eventually allow the stuff back in the shop. Have not really focused on ALE count or building up versus bare. Do plenty of soldering, so that’s not an issue. So yeah… probably.

Update: first order shipped. 2nd order manufacturing well under way. I/O chips have an estimated 7/6 stocking date (don’t know how accurate that is).

they are so quick and efficient

timber citrus
austere nebula
#

yea, crazy efficient

timber citrus

And at $0.86 a board they must have outstanding economies of scale.

I will not say anything I know about Chinese Manufacturers since I spent 15 years working with them 🙂

lets just say I personally saw the nets at Foxconn for a few years

Update, I/O chips came in...placed last order for the 20 DDIs. Please DM me your address. I'm going to use USPS flat rate shipping. The PCBs cost $125.54 each. USPS flat rate includes insurance for up to $100, if you want to pay the extra $4.30 to cover the value over $100 let me know. Once the files are confirmed and I have the shipping info I'll post the final estimated cost and Venmo info.

DDI order's parts placement confirmed, going into production.

#

At this point it appears safe to say the final order cost from JLCPCB is $125.54 per person. For those in the U.S. I'm assuming a USPS flat-rate medium box will work so shipping should be $17.10. For a total cost of $142.64. If you want insurance for the value of the boards over $100 add $4.30 to the flat rate. If you're not in the U.S. then I'll need to look up the shipping rate to you, or get enough to cover shipping and return any overage.

#

Be sure to put your OH discord name in the payment for my ease of tracking whose paid.

I don't have a Venmo account. Do you also have a paypal address?

Update on orders: 1st order should be delivered Wednesday. 2nd order is awaiting DHL pickup at JLCPCB. 3rd order is done with PCB manufacture going into SMT Assembly. I’m guessing a little over a week to have everything.

i am headed to Korea on the 11th and back on the 15th. not sure when you plan to ship the first set out

timber citrus

I’m out of town the 14th to the 25th. I’m holding on shipping until I get all the boards. I could mail yours later in the day on the 13th, or I can hold it until I’m back. I already have another for the same reason I’m holding on until after our vacation.

#

For others I’ll be packing them up this weekend with a goal of shipping those who’ve paid early next week.

mailing on the 12th or 13th is totally fine. will take a few days to arrive

DDIs are out for delivery. As a note, I do have 3 each of these boards if you’re interested let me know. Won’t be worth it to post separately.
HOTAS_Analog Stick Breakout(i.e. TDC) board: $4
Inner Grip: $4
HOTAS_Hat Switch Breakout: $2
CONTROLLER_Stick (flight stick): $5

I'd be in for all but the stick controller (since those are outdated.) I'll shoot you the extra PP.

timber citrus
#

@cerulean lichen Ah...OK, didn't see an update on the stick controller in the ecad folder yet. I know the throttle controler was updated so didn't post it.

cerulean lichen
#

Oh, I stand corrected 🙂 Those are good to the latest. 🙂

#

(I was thinking throttle controller. Hah.)

timber citrus
#

Cool, I only bought 5 Hall sensors after the design switched to MT6835s...So don't have any of those to sell, unless someone really wants them with MT6825 chips...I have a boat load of those.

timber citrus
#

All boxed up. Before I send them out anyone else interested the inboard throttle grip and flight stick controller (not throttle controller)?

Statuses updated with shipping. @austere nebula and @fair imp holding off on shipping per our DMs. @stone spoke sent DMs with CA shipping info. @merry sorrel haven’t heard from you on address or payment, incase DMs didn’t go through.

Got everything in @timber citrus a couple days ago. Finally got to open up the box and everything looks fantastic.

Looks like I'm gonna have to bust out a couple more containers and separate the eternal prototyping and the "To be built" stuff. 😂

timber citrus
#

Sounds good. I can say that the DDIs, AMPCD, and Jett select, IFEI boards are working for the buttons. I don’t have any backlighting setup yet aside from testing the AMPCD and DDIs.

Ditto… all good! Thanks again for the above and beyond effort.
