July 11th dinner outing to Skyisblu’s restaurant

Hi, is there anyone who is going to be arriving in Montreal prior to dinner time on Thursday July 11th, and will have a car? I was planning to go to Skyisblu’s restaurant that evening as invited, but I realized that I would probably need to carpool with one or more others to get there and back in time for the escape room outing that night.

The exact timing for all of this will be clear when I book the escape room in a couple weeks from now, but if anyone can help (and join me for dinner), please let me know here. Thanks!

Regarding the restaurant’s price range, I see now that their website shows a range of $12 to $27 CAD on the crepes section of the menu ($8.71 to 19.61 USD)

My flight gets in on Thursday at 4:15. I'm not sure how fast I can make it through customs and the half hour uber to the hotel. What time are you all planning on going to dinner? I guess that also depends on what time is the escape room

Although depending on the time slots available, we could possibly do the escape room earlier and then dinner afterwards. That would also depend on what time everyone in the escape room group is arriving in Montreal and will be ready to go out

According to my notes, we now have 3 people including myself who have said that they definitely plan to go to the restaurant but would need transportation, and a few others who are interested but not 100% sure. I also have heard from 3 people who might possibly be able to help with transportation, but cannot fully commit at this time to coordinating to help with this group outing.

All of that being said, I want to go ahead and propose that those of us without vehicles just plan on splitting the cost of a shared ride, because at this point I think it will be a lot simpler than coordinating a ride with other con-goers the night before the con.

FYI for all who are interested in this dinner outing on the 11th: I am booking my escape room group’s reservation for 8:30 PM, so anyone who want to travel with me back from the dinner will need to be finished by around 8 PM at the latest. Also, that’s assuming we share the cost of a shared ride, because public transportation would take a LOT longer in this case.

Speaking of which, I believe someone previously mentioned here that we could get a taxi or something, but does anyone know what the specific options will be for ride sharing in and around Montreal?

(but also standard taxis.)

Both will take you about 20 minutes to get back to the hotel, so finishing dinner at 8 pm is more than reasonable. An average dining time at the Creperie is usually about 1h30-1h45, and that's with 3 services. We open at 5 pm, so you'll have plenty of time to arrive, eat and depart for the escape room at 8:30.

Okay, great! I had read that Uber’s main competitor in the USA does not operate there, but I hadn’t yet looked much into Uber itself or other options. That should work out well, though, in that case! 😃

The best way to make reservations at the restaurant would be directly through me(either in this thread or through DM). It is a small place, so we don't do reservations online. I already have a couple of people who have booked tables, so you can absolutely let me know and I will write them in when I get to work. And I would strongly suggest making reservations, as we often fill up in the evenings. Let me know what time, how many people and whether you want a table inside or on one of our two outdoor patios, and I'll make sure to get the tables booked 🙂

For a Thursday night? I'd say a week, to be safe. If the entire "escape room" group wants to come, that's a table of 8 people. Our dining room seats 50, so you can see how we'd need to plan ahead 😉
