#Food Allergy meal buddies

I’m anaphylactic allergic to dairy, and I have my plans for eating researched. I don’t know much about low FODMAP.
I plan to make multiple orders at Allie’s Vegan Pizzeria. I looooooooved them in 2019. With different pizza types, and some non pizza options, and great desserts, I feel like I can make 2-3 orders over the weekend and be happy. https://www.alliesvegan.com/menu
Allie's is a vegan pizzeria and cafe. Many of our ingredients are made in house, including our sauces, doughs and vegan cheeses. The menu page describes items to order along with allergen information.
I’ve been excited to go back there for months.
That’s my preferred option for me because as I learned at last Spokane, some places are not great at avoiding cross contam……
https://www.visitspokane.com/blog/top-5-vegetarian-and-vegan-restaurants-in-spokane/ the veggie/vegan places on here look good, but I’m a tad bit leery of CC on my end.
There’s also a co op market very close to the hotel where I plan to pick up breakfast foods from.
I got milk, creamer, cereal, etc from them last time.
If there’s a few of us with allergies to milk and we want to get like a bunch of bagels and a small container of vegan butter or something (bc I know I can’t use a whole thing of butter in 5 days but maybe like 4 of us can make a good dent in it) I’m happy for that too.
That all sounds great! My dairy tolerance is zero. Though it's not an allergy, I do treat it like one. Like, I had to formula feed my baby a few years ago and just mixing the powder would aerosolize it enough to make me sick. 😒
Okay yeah that’s bad, so let’s be food friends.
My ability to go out to eat at the same time as everyone else may be a bit weird bc committee has to stagger ours, but that’s why part of my plans included being able to have pizza leftovers in the hotel fridge.
I get skin hives from contacting yogurt or cheese, so I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near an open tub of whey or casein powder.
anf they deliver via Treehouse which I’ve never heard of
I have a dairy allergy as well, though it is not as bad for me.
And I am allergic to nightshade plant food, i.e potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants. It makes eating out pretty tricky sometimes
Hey, I can't have potatoes either! (And a bunch of other stuff) I have IBS. We'll definitely stick together.
I am vegan - very happy to go in on a dairy-free group order if people want to do that, or be a vegan restaurant buddy!
Anyone in this thread have a car to travel out to places, or will we mostly be doing takeout?
I have a car if we need to go out
I'm also vegetarian and would definitely join in on this, especially for lunch Saturday.
Anyone from this group want to grab lunch?
The Mango Tree has vegan options.
7 minute walk from the convention.
That is in fact where I took myself! Not sure that it would be allergy safe but can confirm very tasty veggie/vegan options!
I touched base with Capella earlier and there are plans for a group order this evening if you want in on that!
Yes, that would be amazing! Are we just getting together at the supper break then?
Yep im gonna get people to come place delivery orders with me
Rüt is all vegan
I want the jackfruit tacos
Hey folks, I need a little downtime on my own before back to committee stuff. I suggest folks check out Rüt above. Or Red Dragon. They both do vegan delivery
Heya, if you still want to do an order or something, I'm at one of the tables in the main hall in a white starry shirt, you're welcome to come grab me
Hello all here! My boyfriend and I are going to Rut about to order an Uber if anyone wants to join
Did you already leave?
We just did but if you want to join us at the place we would be happy to eat together
@dreamy oxide I'm looking for people to go get pho. Is that something you can eat?
Yes! Is that at the pho place just off Main?
En route!
Does anyone have leftovers they want to bring to Cyan vs chancing the BBQ? If so please bring them down to the con room around 8:15 for me to coordinate something with you.
I wish I’d thought of that..
Any y'all have or want to make dinner plans?
I don’t have any plans, but I can join in with other people for plans. (Not that I’m not thoroughly engrossed in the puzzles from yesterday)
I’d be interested in ordering from that place that was mentioned yesterday, if that is still an option, they looked really good
Yeah, I'm up for doing that! I'm hanging out in the lobby right now (waistcoat, stompy boots) if we wanna find each other to coordinate
Rüt aren't currently doing delivery so we're going to drive over - let us know if you want to join!
I have three spots available in my car for whoever wants to join us
Does anyone have any suggestions on a place that's healthy? I' m finding that I'm having to eat food I normally don't eat every day. I usually eat rice with beef or chicken and can veer a little away from that. I know there's a pho place but if there are other options? I'm not looking for someone to eat with; just trying to find a place to go to.
pho isn’t open till Monday. Please define healthy to you ; what I consider may not be what you do
Not anything fried, but perhaps boiled or broiled if there is anything like that here.
