#game slowly losing fps, stuttering and input delay

i usually play hoh2 with a friend and always had an average fps performance (120-200) on 1080p default settings(with terrain detail on minimum) but never tried the singleplayer mode because all my free time was spent on multiplayer but 3 days ago i tried starting a singleplayer run using a ng+1 character and for no reason the game now struggles to get stable fps on absolute minimum graphic settings (including resolution with discord closed)

it always starts on a seemingly random number from 100 to 300 and slowly lowers and when it's under 40 fps it starts having stuttering and input delay
opening any kind of menu or talking to any npc or attacking seems to reduce the fps quicker

i already tried every single common game lag fix including changing the game to an ssd and running as administrator
tried a new character, uninstalling then installing and verifying game files but the issue persists

i have good performance on every other hammerwatch game and more demanding titles like gta 5

VIDEO OF PROOF https://youtu.be/vV91ZMMvtj4?si=CBviiO-AxofbV6pf (ignore the horrible resolution as OBS hates low resolution, you can skip to the end and you can check top left for the fps count

no idea if this is bad enough to be strong severity as you technically can beat the game like this

Update and half fix
deleted my save then verified integrity of files and didn't seem to work but then i did delete the save files and HWR2.exe text and cfg files from the game files (NOT THE .EXE FILE, JUST THE TEXT FILES)

I've had a similar issue, though only when I leave the game running over the course of hours (I sometimes get pulled away and leave the game on the pause screen in dungeon for 3-4 hours at a time). RTX 3080, 5800x, and 32gb of ram on win11. Changing settings doesn't help, but restarting hoh2 does.

# nova jungle And operating system

Windows 10, intel i5 4590, 12gb ram and gt710
it's terrible specs but it's what works for me and didn't had that issue
even after the latest patch i had good framerate until i did that singleplayer run (and i had good frames in that run until i closed the game)

# nova jungle could you try plugging your monitor cable (hdmi, dvi, etc) into the motherboard an...

tried before but it's a 2 fps decrease
i have 2 monitors so i thought the second monitor was an issue even if i had it for a long time now
all combinations end up with same effect
tried changing the gpu of slot or removing it and using only the cpu graphics
also tried on a second pc and transferred the saves but same issue and about the same framerate

my guess it's that i did something i wasn't meant to and it corrupted my save in a really odd way

huh yeah, that fps loss rate is crazy quick. It's really like that for both PC's? You're telling me half way through the first level you end up with half of your frames?

in the other pc the fps were a little lower(about 10 fps lower) as it's an even older pc
in the video i link on the main post it's shown that it slowly goes down to 40 fps

#

extra note that i am not using any of the game public betas
and little ago tried the public betas to see if they would improve and there was none

opening with administrator mode did help by making it decrease slower
but there was still a decrease

maybe i corrupted the save and every particle and entity stays loaded?

I get the same issue on Steam Deck. Runs perfectly for an hour or so, then slowly deteriorates until the point I need to restart the game after maybe 2 hours. I am leaving it in standby mode though, rather than shutting down between play sessions. Playing Solo
