Right now it is my experience that attack speed on charged weapon attacks only affects the rate of charging but not the rate of firing.
the time before auto-firing once fully charged seems fixed regardless of attack speed.
The consequence of this is evident on bows and especially the ice staff.
for the ice staff it results in having to spam-click the attack which to be honest is not all that fun.
Spam-clicking having the higher damage output is fine, that's just to be expected.
What isn't all that fine is when holding the attack button essentially counteracts most of the attack speed bonus.
#Make charge attacks benefit from attack speed more.

To second this- it's probably not a healthy design to give players carpal tunnel trying to actually keep firing charge shots three times a second.
I see players in the ranger channel discussing using autohotkey to implement an autofire for the charged attack- think it would be much better if this were unnecessary.
Wholeheartedly agree.
However, I also wouldn't be against just having a "fire when fully charged" option in the settings.
This is already a thing actually. its just that because it takes long. the ice staff has the same charge attack but it benefits from attackspeed
Apologies, which part is already a thing?
Because I'm pretty sure there's no "fire when fully charged" option in the settings.
it happens automatically after a delay
Yes, that is the default behaviour that your post is complaining about.
I was saying that an option to simply remove this delay would be good too.
Not only. my post is also about the fact that m2 skills don't benefit from attackspeed
but thats a slightly separate issue.
I think we are in agreement, so I will just end the back and forth here 😄
(but it was good for bumping the thread)
It should benefit from Focus also
what does focus have to do with this?
focus is just mana
That's the problem with attributes, it's very boring, and does a few things and then nothing else.
As the current game state, would a Ranger invest in Strength? Obviously no, as it only adds Armor, which does not really benefit ranger, and Armor is obsolete at NG++.
Each attributes should be able to do something more to Spells.
Example1: Would be fun if Focus can increase charge damage or increase charge speed.
Example2: Strength could increase Bow projectiles speed & distance and perhaps Max Charge time for even more damage.
In the end, more creativity at the Attribute and Spells would only increase the gameplay diversity and depth.
