#Receiving gear from chests always feels bad

Especially behind traps that are tearing me up. Almost dying to a trap to get some boots that I don't need and will sell for 56 gold feels bad.

I just want trinkets. I want to make full trinket sets. The more trinkets the better. I've gotten maybe two upgrades that I've cared about with my gear. (Frankly, I don't like the whole system but I know it's not going away). But I'm appreciative and any trinket I get.

And on that note, receiving +1 iLvl to a piece of gear from an imp feels extremely bad. I want 8000 gold or 50 wood or experience points or even a rare trinket. I've only seen 3 imps so far and on the last one, I was huffin' and puffin' trying to find it. When I was very excited to grab it before it dipped, seeing that it boosted my chestplate a teeny bit was such a letdown.

Disagree, absolutely prefer getting gear, the game gives enough trinkets for it to be easy enough.

When you start getting into NG+ which i assume you aren't currently, the new items are VERY good. some items i have yet to find the enchantments for, and thus need to get specific enchantments on items.

the game gives plenty of trinkets, end of run you have easily 50+ trinkets, and maybe 8-15 pieces of gear.

For traps, i will say the gargoyles youre forced to walk into kinda suck in NG+ but otherwise almost all of them are quite simple, and easy to maneuver through, most are just patterns, and timing.

Last of all, the imps are fantastic, the item thing i understand is annoying, but as i understand they dont actually care about ilvl cap, so once you upgrade say, a lvl 20 item to level 30 (10 is cap upgrade i believe) +1 can make them 31, BUT ill be testing it tomorrow a bunch to make sure.

I'll have to take your word on it when it comes to NG+. I haven't gotten there yet, but maybe the experience does change a lot and I'll change my tune.

If that's the case though, then the early game part of HoH2 is made worse by the trinkets-to-gear ratio. I don't know, man. Getting some useless pair of bracers I'm just gonna sell isn't fun for me. In HoH1, a chest was always hype.

Maybe I wanna dumb down the systems which might not be good, but I guess it's just the playstyle that appeals to me.

Oh and I don't mind that there are traps. I don't die to them anymore - but I still don't want to get useless gear from dealing with them.

But yeah, I'll reserve judgment until I catch up and get into NG+ I guess

Maybe I'm just out of practice since HoH1, but the traps feel a lot harder than the first game.

Id like an option to turn off gear from chests at the architect and get a trinket instead for more blue and red crystal generation

Also if you can spot the chest behind the trap, you can see if you will get a trinket or equipment. Trinket chest are more narrow then the equipment chests I think (someone fact check this?)

Chest gear won't feel great at the start. But when you start getting ilvl20 gear you can sell that for a decent amount ranging 600-1k a piece.

And there are 2 chests types helping you recognize trinkets and equipment
