One of my friends seem to be consistently getting stuck on the loading screen between levels, even on the loading screen between Hub → Lvl1.
He can wait a bit and get re-invited but it's currently killing the pace for our 4-man runs.
The only thing we think could be causing problems is that he's playing in the same location/network as the host.
Any help with this appreciated.

im having the same problem
every game i try to join or when someone tries to join me it gets stuck on the loading screen
Make sure to turn off VPNs!
A workaround for all of those people who are still struggling, here are the things I've tried
- Normal internet doesn't work, gets stuck at the loading. I'm using tmobile for home internet - probably a CGNAT issue
- Tried the whole works of verifying, reinstalling, making a new profile, restarting my PC, hard restarting modem + router
- Tried using port forwarding and essentially DMZing my computer - no luck
- Used express VPN (the vpn I had) - nada
- Used my mobile hotspot (also tmobile) - didn't work
- Used my partner's mobile hotspot (verizon) - worked, but incredibly inconsistent and also costly
- I ended up going through a bunch of trial VPNs and found one that works - Proton VPN even the free tier is fine
TLDR: I got it working finally by trying ProtonVPN, give it a go if you haven't. You can use the free tier but it connects you through not the best servers. Not an ad lol. Something to try
And to any dev reading this, I'd be happy to guinea pig with debug logs for seeing how we can get it working just with a normal connection
My brother and I are having this same issue. We can succesfully join a single level, but as soon as a level loads/we encounter a load screen we get "waiting for started level" or "loading started scenario". We had a similar issue to this in HOH1 as well
Are you guys playing in the same house? I have a very small suspicion it could be tied to 2 players on the same IP, but given how the issue is not 100% consistent, it likely isn't that(?)
I have the same issue, might refund the game
Nope, not in same house. We both have unique wifi setups (Xfinity through faculty housing and Verizon satellite Internet) so that might play into things
