I've been playing solo off and on since christmas, presently in the Mistlands which looks like a hard slog.

I'm in the US, grown up, and haven't played Valheim on a server but I've played Minecraft on a server and had a lot of fun in an environment like you mention. Not a powergamer, more of a power-putterer / hoarder. I build organic, sprawling compounds that try to leverage the natural landscaping, but not any super-amazing architecture... more like Bob Ross making a happy little fortified argricultural compound.

as a part of kyrios gaming-community i would like to share some experiences/impressions from the last ~6 weeks (and ~200h playing at kyrios gaming). maybe this gives somebody an idea how it feels to be there.

this was my FIRST online-community i joined; in the past mostly organizing LAN-parties for my friends for playing together. this was going slowly pointless after internet made it´s way to make online-gaming simple and fast enough which makes it nearly senseless to carry computer-stuff through the area. LAN-parties... good old times but i will never forget 🙂

but back to topic. first i´ve been a little bit afraid what´s waiting for me joining a community? will somebody eat me? is my english good enough? will i make myself ridiculous bla bla bla... kyrios throws me into the fishtank full of sharks... what happend?

NOTHING!! i got a warm welcome here in the first days, and got the help i needed to improve my conversation-skills and getting back my self-confidence. kyrios - and all other communitymembers - take care of each other; related to game-play as well as the social part. there´s room not only for levelup, weapon-skills or gigantic buildings - as well as talking about funny things around the RL, or if the current mood in the voicechannel matches - worries in your life. i experience my community (i think it is ok that i now can say "my" community bcs i became a fixed part of it) as well-balanced between social parts, game-stuff and mostly team-discussed decisions.

kyrios takes care of his "sheeps" ( :-p ), and recruited some reliable members to be a part of supportteam to get more opinions and ideas to count on and help at community-work.

i learned a lot of the game-mechanis of valheim (after ~2700 hours!? fascinated what things i did NOT know after this long time playing this game), but my precious experience here was and currently is the social part - improving my conversation skills and getting in touch with different peoples and cultures around the globe. i think, the diversity of characters here and the fact that we already grown-ups here (mostly i believe... :-D) whith life-experience is the fact what this group is all about.

as with all things when it comes to people, there are misunderstandings from time to time. but an open ear helps both sides to clarify such things. friendliness and respect is the keyword, and the ability to accept criticism and behave accordingly, no matter in which direction.

I am looking forward to my future here and possibly also to other games that we want to do together.

Aesthetic meaning looks nice and fits a certain theme, so I just wanted to check on that! I don't build much anyway so it won't be a problem for me! I'd be down to join for some casual adventures here and there. I'm in my 30's and EU location 🍻

hey Yon, thank you for saving me on that one 😉 you don't have to be a good builder, some of us are, I was a bad builder myself, but I learned a lot from others. Building is a big part of the gaming experience here and in general of the game. How do you keep yourself entertained if you are not doing that?

I usually start my build, realize it was insanely ambitious and build about a third of what I originally intended to 🫠 but I'm down to help and learn and stuff! I mostly enjoy adventuring, and a lil' hunter gathering on the side! I'll gladly join your shieldwall anyways

mostly only i see "come in and have fun"... but wich kind of fun could be there?

heres one example:

trapped a hare under the stoned-floor of a specific players house (will not name you, kyr**s 🙂 ) and wait to drive him crazy at building... "what´s that noise, do you hear that squeaking?!?"
or same with a fuling trapped in a hole nearby and hole time the giggeling which seems to come from nowhere lol

As a new member of community gaming, I hit the jackpot. A great chilled, mature group of friendly folks, led by a great admin team who are firm on the rules but open to problem solving and finding the pragmatic solutions. I joined my first event and it was a blast, insanely well organised and really good fun.

I personally liked the no mods, slow pace gameplay, but things are always evolving with new ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing what is in store over the next couple of months.

Myself and a couple of others that we collected on discord have started a dedicated server a couple of months ago and created a stable, friendly community for older players. This is now called Kyrios Gaming.

We are done by playing the game alone and seeking brother/sisterhood so to say comradery. Most of us are 35+ of age. We are easy to hang out with and have a lot of fun playing Valheim and a few other games.!

Our members like to build together and value aesthetic building. We like to experience, fight and collect resources together. We value community effort above everything and have a zero tolerance for drama.

Our current progress is the Mistlands of Valheim and we will be killing the queen in two weeks. After we kill the queen the server will be around for a bit but will slowly move to season two. That means a fresh seed. A new experience.

We are on the lookout for:
