We'd be creating some common areas for crafting and etc. just because it makes things easier to just have one upgraded workbench and forge and not have to spend materials on upgrading three, four or five crafting stations. And things that affect the everyone, such as when to defeat the next boss and progress, are going to be scheduled. As far as exploring, gathering, doing dungeons, and doing personal builds, people can be as close or as far away from the main group as they want. I think you'll find that being at least a small part of the larger group will have a lot of benefits.
