I'm new to Valheim RP in general, how do people communicate, is there a voice chat system or we just type in chat ? (sorry if this sounds like a dumb question)

As for communication it is mainly normal chat, but there are also voice chat channels on discord for when clanmembers are at the clanbase or are together on a mission(note these voicechats are RP voicechats). We are looking how we later might integrate a voicechat ingame though. @winter ore

I have another question, how is the progression going already in the server, are people already really ahead ?
And does it have PVP ?
Do you have to do any whitelist entry ?

Season 1 is yet to start we are still gathering people to the server so every clan has enough people to start. As for how progression would go: progression would go in stages from boss to boss. The admins announce when the next boss can be killed this makes for a better rp experience as their would not be a big difference between clans besides the things that might happen during roleplay following up from that PVP.

There is PVP in the server, but limited.

PVP in the wild can only happen if their is rp before hand and if the odds are almost similar/fair so 1v1, 3v2. Not 5v2 for example.
Further their are raids that clans can call on each other the defending clan has 24h to prepare. And in the future their will be probs battles and events. @winter ore

Note Raids also need some sort of rp reason.

As for entry as of right now everyone can entry as we are focused on getting as many people as possible! Though if there is misconduct in the game from cheating to rp misconduct they will be dealt with. If the server grows we might put whitelist on though.

You talked about cheating and such, how do you intend to prevent that ? like people using things like WeMod or other tools to get powers such as free building and many more things

As for cheating first we have serversidecharacters so character get saved on the server rather than local therefore players cannot get items from other world as for mod menus we have already explored a couple possible mods that will take care of that so if someone uses cheats it will detect that and if they have not installed the mod they will be kicked we are still testing it ourselves first though. @winter ore

And obviously we will as a mod team monitor clans as well from time to time.

Right now the max will be 25, but it really depends on how stable the server will run and the player count in general. I intend to have at least 12 people presently at starting event on launch so every clan has at least 3 people enough to get going. Anything more than that is obviously even better!

We have planned to launch within a week relaying on if there are enough players. @winter ore

A somewhat good rp mindstyle as in creating your own lore to you character and having the ability to rp a little.
Willingness to download some mods though before launch there will be a simplified guide to it.
Friendly and somewhat good in working in a team(clan)
Obviously wanting to have fun, being up for a adventure and being active from time to time! @winter ore

Sadly enough cross play is disabled for the very reason of mods. The mods we run are not Compatible with game pass like anticheat and server side characters. As they detect steam-id and more.

Only thing I can say is look into buying it on steam(if possible) as generally speaking the steam version of valheim handles mods and compatibility better. There is also a sale going on right now for valheim on steam.

The server was started a couple days ago so safe bet for a reasonable amount of time months with some luck(the server owner is not going anywhere). We are also looking to even go to a better provider soon with a better server so it wont be for nothing.

It is all explained in the server, but it is only like 5 mods mostly QOL. You can either use a zip and extract straight into your valheim folder or use a mod manager(thunderstore or r2modman).

Right now there is no voicechat, though we might add it in the future, but you can always choose what you prefer more.

Voicechat would just add some character and punctuation to certain words you want to tell other people. And generally could create better rp stories. Though it will always be you choice.

Right now we do not have that many mods so we have not yet put it in a centralised mod-pack though this will probs be the case for season 2.

Here is a list of the mods installed for this season:
there are mainly QOL mods this season.

Odinhorse: latest version
Servercharacters: Latest version
Betternetworking: Latest version
Valheimplus + bepinex: Latest version
Azuanticheat: Latest version
Betterwards: Latest version
Xrayvision: Latest version

Mainly mods to ensure fairplay.

For installation we do obviously have codes available for set mod manager.

We do a lot of in-game rp events so a lot of flavour comes from that as well.

Sounds great! In the server there is much personal customisation you can do to your character. Specially considering there is much lore available to you for every clan. We just killed the third boss, but generally speaking we do not look to ingame progresion. But to progression through story lines.

You can always join the server take a look through the lore and try a intake form.

Interesting question.

It really depends what kinda rp you want to create.

If you bring valuable rp as a for example merchant of sorts I would definitely consider it as it brings value to the server.

So yes you could if the rp is of value to the server.

Ultimately the most important thing with us is that your rp creates value in the server and fun experiences within the rp.

I'm interested in this as well, but I'm definitely not keen on starting in a clan; I've read the lore and all, and I know that's a big appeal, so I understand the 'outsider' route, if there ever was one, would automatically keep you from being able to enter certain clans. Like for example, the Drengrtyr wouldn't take outsiders unless MAYBE one was exceptional enough in the 'art of violence', but even so, not every clan member would likely find value in that. Which considering their tendencies of in-fighting, that'd also be pretty reasonable

Point being though, I assume if someone was allowed to not start in a clan the chance of them joining one later would be greatly reduced, but I think that should still be a choice. Right now the app process basically demands that you start in a clan and that's kinda put me off
